Rotherham Labour MP Sarah Champion has been given increased security and protection from terror police. The move comes as authorities fear far-left activists and Muslim extremists may be trying to physically hurt her, or remove her from office.
Sky News reports that Champion has received death threats, following a column she wrote in which she outlined the common ethnic heritage of grooming gangs in Rotherham.
I’ve said before that Champion’s words don’t comfort me. Until she resigns from the Labour Party then, in my books, she isn’t really standing up to the problem. She knows that her party has overseen some of the greatest atrocities to children in this country, and if she had any intention of tackling this problem then she would resign and encourage other Labour Party members to do the same.
A lot can be achieved outside of the Labour Party, and her support for another political movement could help shift public opinion away from Corbyn and his mental socialist cronies. But I doubt that will happen any time soon.
Champion is on the receiving end of far-left attacks and Muslim aggression this week, after writing an article for The Sun in which she explained that the UK suffers from a “problem with British Pakistani men raping and exploiting white girls”. This is verifiably and undeniably true, which is why the far-left and Muslim activists are going after her.
It the article, she wrote:
"There. I said it. Does that make me a racist? Or am I just prepared to call out this horrifying problem for what it is?"
No, it doesn’t make you a racist, Sarah. But it does mean you’ve identified the problem. Now, you need to help solve it. This means acknowledging the ideological route of the problem, and taking measures to stop the spread of this dangerous ideology in our communities. It means removing religious and cultural exemptions from policing and the courts, and it means stopping the importation of people who hold these values.
Surely Sarah Champion has realized this by now, and surely she understands the seriousness of the problem now it’s on her own doorstep. Now that this MP is experiencing the kind of attacks and threats that many of us on "the right" have experienced for years – decades even – I have to wonder whether Champion has realized the problem yet.
I wonder if she’s realized that it’s the Labour Party who has not only allowed these crimes to happen, but mobilized and empowered both the far-left and the most extreme in the Muslim community.
