Here's how the trade deal with Canada could reduce Russia's influence on Ukraine

Marissa SemkiwArchive

Canada and Ukraine are close to signing a trade deal that would eliminate 99.9% of tariffs on goods being imported from Ukraine into Canada, and most of the tariffs on Canadian goods being exported to that country.

I talk to journalist Justin Ling, who has written about the deal for Vice.com.

He said the agreement might allow Canadian companies to export restricted weapons to Ukraine. We talk about why these particular arms hadn't been sent before and what kinds of weapons Ukraine still needs.

Also discussed in Ukraine's energy crisis and how Canada might be able to alleviate that as well.

I think you are right Rick. It sure makes me proud to be a Canadian that Harper stands up and acts on what is right.
Gaggers, please choke.

If nothing else, this agreement marks solidarity of our government with the government of Ukraine. That, in itself, is a big deal.

You could do as I have posted before
1…Improve or up-grade the rail link to Churchill Manitoba
2…Improve the port of Churchill Manitoba
3…Construct the largest LNC plant in the world
4…Construct a nuclear power plant providing the north with cheap reliable power.
5…Manufacture here in Canada 4-5 LNG ice harden ships to carry our gas to Europe
6…Run a oil and gas pipe line from our oil and gas fields
7…Build 2 nuclear power ice breakers (so we don’t have to hire the Russian ship)
8…Sell or lease or give 6 of our 12 mothballed Kingston class coastal patrol vessels
Any one with half a brain would see the economic benefits to Canada and Canadians
