Here’s the “secret to understanding” Trudeau’s “silly” new citizenship oath

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

Earlier this week, I explained why Justin Trudeau's change to Canada's citizenship oath would be like asking new immigrants, or anyone, to abide by the contract Tom Cruise has with his movie studio:

Nice bafflegab, Mr. Levant.

Of course citizens are bound by Treaties that THEIR gov’t signs. NAFTA is a modern example of a Treaty with Mexico and the USA. Surely you are not implying that individual citizens don’t have to comply with NAFTA; the citizens and the companies and the levels of gov’t are all parties to the contract/treaty.

Just to clarify — the Treaties with the “Indians” were Treaties with First Nations, not Bands or tribes. Back in the day they were nation-to-nation treaties. The Canadian gov’t put the “Indians” on reserves and imposed a Band Council governing structure.

Yes but that’s the whole point Ezra. The left makes you obligated to all of their bat shit crazy notions, no matter your own beliefs or morals. That’s why they force you to be obligated to allow Divine to sit in the stall next your daughter and take a dump.

I guess my point is that she’s not worth considering as a candidate and there’s many many reasons for that

“The point is we ignore the link between health security and international security at our peril. Whether it occurs by a quirk of nature or at the hand of a terrorist, epidemiologists say a fast-moving airborne pathogen could kill more than 30 million people in less than a year. And they say there is a reasonable probability the world will experience such an outbreak in the next 10-15 years.”

Leviticus: I really have no idea what you are talking about. I really can’t say I know much about Kelly Leitch but I did agree with the suggestion that she made in that potential immigrants be tested for whether or not they share Canadian values. But really the subject of this topic was trying to decipher what Trudeau’s planned changed was getting at. I was only referencing her proposal as a point of reference not as a commentary on support or non support of any of her other policies. Hope that cleared things up for you :)

Canada’s biggest problem is Trudeau himself, plus the gang of misfits he has around him.

Like his Father before him, He will only be happy when he has dragged Canada down to his own level of mediocrity.

Meanwhile he becomes rich, on Saudi Gold.

Edward Jorbin… You give Kelly Leach far too much credit for anything. She would be exactly like another Trudeau government with a smattering of Kathleen Wynne thrown in.!!

Yeah he’s virtue signaling to the natives since he hasn’t done anything for them other than fulfill his campaign promise to the chiefs by rolling back Harper’s transparency act so that now the natives and taxpayers once again have no idea where all the money is going.

I kind of wondered if this was a push back on Kellie Leitch’s proposal to have citizens tested for Canadian values. As the natives were the first people here perhaps this was his way of mockingly suggesting we should be upholding their values. The reason why it seems like mockery as you suggested who knows what the treaties are and how we uphold them.

Could also be viewed as a future trip wire for any gov’t. wishing to change it.
