The NDP says that single person households earning less than $47,500 dollars and families earning less than $95,000, will get a full carbon tax rebate.
The maximum carbon tax rebate, if you even qualify, is $420. You’ll get $200 for an adult, $100 for a spouse and $30 for each child under 18 (up to four children).
That’s right, you need four future taxpayers to get $420 back.
Watch as I do a little math and answer the big question: Is the carbon tax rebate really even a rebate at all? Or is it just a gimmick designed to bribe you with your own money?
Don't be swayed by the promise of a rebate. In reality, it isn't anything.
It’s like being happy because the bully that stole your lunch left you with your raisins.
No one likes raisins.
