A high school in New Jersey has just abandoned a 50 year tradition of using gender-based caps for graduation because he says it's “offensive” to students “whose identity is more fluid.”
Glen Rock High School Principal John Arlotta gave himself a pat on the back for this decision by saying that it was a big step forward for the entire community.
“Times have changed in terms of gender equity,” Arlotta said. “It’s really meant to be a step toward unity,” Arlotta said.
“Someone said it’s been that way since 1959. My answer is that it’s not 1959 anymore.”
Arlotta further explained that this is “an effort to meet changing gender dynamics, particularly to be inclusive of those whose identity is more fluid, and for whom a color-coordinated identifier would prove complicated, if not offensive."
Of course, some still found a way to be "offended" by the decision, as feminists are mad that they now have to wear the colors that were previously worn by men.
"The girls now have to conform to men once again, which is something I thought our society was past,” one student wrote for the school newspaper. She added that she would prefer if each student could pick their own color to wear, so that nobody will have to conform to anything!
he left seems to think that this is a step forward, but to us, it seems like a giant step back for society.
Furthermore, the fact that Alotta capitulated to progressive ideology and still found a way to enrage feminists shows that it is literally impossible to appease the left. No matter how much people conform to whatever the left's latest craze is, some will still find a way to be offended.
