Among other things, this plan will make it harder for families to pass farms down to their children.
As part of our SaveTheFamilyFarm.ca campaign, we wanted to let those most effected by this tax plan speak their minds, and listen to speakers who oppose the plan and want to help fight it.
Here are some highlights from the first town hall, in Red Deer:
Drew Barnes is the United Conservative Party MLA from Cypress-Medicine Hat. A rancher and businessperson, he explains the impact of the Liberals’ out of touch tax plan.
Cory Litzenberger, a CPA and self-described “tax nerd”, explains how those who will be effected by these tax changes need to prepare.
Former Conservative MP and Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz gave the keynote speech at the Save the Family Farm rallies in Alberta.
Here, Ritz says that among other things, the chores that farm kids do as a matter of course may have to be itemized to conform with Trudeau's new tax laws.
