A Muslim girl in the UK has apologized for taking part in an 'inappropriate dance' and 'disrespecting Islam', despite her being the one to receive death threats.
According to Heat Street, “The girl, whose name remains unknown, was criticized after video filmed in the UK city of Birmingham, showed her twerking while wearing a hijab. The footage was viewed well over 1 million times on social media and has received thousands of negative comments, including death threats towards the girl.”
One angry comment said, “Fu*king s**t, someone give me her address I will kill her.” Another person wrote, “Stupid bitch needs to be killed.”
Islamic YouTuber Ali Dawah called the dance 'inappropriate'. In an interview with the girl she apologized for disrespecting Islam.
She explained her actions saying, “I was out with my friends, we were going shopping and there were these people playing music, there was one song that a girl wanted to dance with me.”
Later on she added, “To all the girls that wear hijab and wear abayah I’m sorry for disrespecting it.”
Dawah proceeded to blame the music for the girl's actions. His co-host Musa said that “this is why music is haram.”
