Hollywood is increasingly portraying moms as evil, and so are the television networks. It seems to me that mom characters are becoming increasingly evil and dangerous for their kids, while great moms are so easily ignored.
There are some shows, like The Goldbergs, which represent what moms are really about – and I think it’s important to nurture shows like this, instead of shows where moms expose their kids to drugs, crime, and all sorts of other terrible things.
There are tons of original movies coming out, simply due to the fact that there are more movies made every year than ever before and I personally watch a lot of those movies.
People are just not choosing to go to the theatre to watch them like movies that are typically nominated for Oscars, so while yes – theatre attendance is down, the money is going to steaming services/on demand – which is why every studio is coming out with their own version of Netflix and some studios are considering first run movies on demand.
Hollywood is doing just fine. People are just choosing different ways to consume it.

Hollywood is losing money? Where?
Why can’t there be stories about bad mothers or bad fathers or bad whatever. I really don’t see the problem here. It’s fictional entertainment. It’s not real life.
An intelligent, attractive, conservative woman, with poise and manners, challenging the status quo of the propaganda-factory that is Lefty Hollywood…Badass!
