Sold-out hotel taking in "military members long term while they house refugees at CFB Kingston." Here's a BETTER idea.

Rebel Staff

Here's part of a letter that was sent to someone trying to book a room at the Ambassador Hotel in Kingston, Ontario:

"I regret to inform you that we are sold out of those dates. Aside from the sporting events, we have taken in our military members long term while they house refugees at CFB Kingston."

So it’s really happening, just as we reported exclusively this week:

Canadian soldiers are being kicked out of their homes on military bases and Muslim migrants from Syria are being flown in to live in our soldiers' homes.

Hey, I’ve got a better idea:

We should house these refugees in Parliament.

Seriously. Not the actual chamber of the House of Commons, but all the offices around them. Surely that's a lesser convenience and humiliation than is being done to our troops.

After all, MPs are the ones who support this. Why, with the Liberals, are soldiers always our punching bags?

This is nuts. SIGN OUR PETITION against it at RefugeePause.ca now.

William McDonnell – “Bill Elder. Military ordnance will be locked up nice, tight and secure. No worries there.”

They said that before Dennis Lortie armed up;
The public account documents, tabled each year provided a detailed breakdown on DND expenses/losses however these are unclear on how or why 484 weapons and accessories were stolen from National Defence in 2012-13, nor what those weapons might be. In total, thieves bilked National Defence for more than $7 million worth of goods, which were" locked up nice, tight and secure"

Color me unconvinced.

Acunna: That was a very childish response. When I see discrepancies I am interested in finding out the why and try to keep an open mind before leveling accusations. In an earlier post I had suggested someone might want to try calling the hotel and asking for a clarification since we were hearing two completely contrary suggestions. That post was removed. In hindsight it was a bad idea as the hotel probably wouldn’t have appreciated getting potentially hundreds of calls from the public. So I do acknowledge it was most likely for the good that the post had been removed, however someone now claims they havecontacted the hotel and they are not fully booked. So I have no idea why these contrary stories have arisen but would love to know the bottom line. So one way or another there is a story here waiting to be uncovered. By the way Acuuna I can’t believe you are that insecure you can’t tolerate someone asking questions or God forbid occasionally disagreeing with you. If the conservative party ever hopes to make inroads some of the people within it’s folds have allot of growing up to do. If ever I am tempted to get discouraged at the endless pettiness and infantile behaviour among the brethren I simply look to the left and am encouraged they have no shortage of nutjobs either.

Acuuna, I was a leg. Should I be discouraged? Micro aggressed? Looking for a safe spot? Just kidding. Your airborne guys were always the cream of the crop!

Blessed be the cheesemakers for they shall be called the sons of limburger ;-)

I have a question for our cheesemaking PM and his inebriate minister, about whether the military ordnance (select fire rifles, pistols, grenades, RPGs and other nasty stuff) has vacated with them to a safer place where “migrants” couldn’t stumble across them on the way to prayer meeting at the new base mosques???

I would like to encourage people to not be too harsh on those who question or disagree. After all I think all of us would like to know the truth as far as we can see it and I hate seeing people pile on when someone questions some discrepancy either real or perceived. I love this site, the reporters, journalists and those who offer comments but there is always room for questions differences of interpretations. It is always possible we can get something wrong and I would love to get to the bottom of it rather than dig my heels in and accuse anyone who disagrees with me as somehow being un-conservative or a lying lefty. I would really love to see a bit of clarification on a few of these issues and don’t write off the possibility someone has tried to pull a fast one on Ezra to try and discredit him and his work. I find the whole thing fascinating.

Funny when I check they aren’t fully booked I had no problem finding a room any time from Friday to june of this year. Plus we have not seen any flood of refugees in Kingston I think 3 families so far. Did he call the hotel to ask if this was true? And why this hotel when there are so many other hotels closer to the base? Kingston isn’t very big so think we would have seen this.

I wonder where are our Conservative MP’s on this issue. Even the leader of the opposition Rona Ambrose is silent. Does this silence means they are with the liberals on this issue?? We already know where liberals & dippers stand on rapefugee issue but the stand taken by conservative is unexpected.
So, they’ve no objection to our soldiers being kicked out of their homes, our military barracks taken over by thousands of mohammedans and mosques being constructed on our military bases?
commented 2016-02-10 19:45:48 -0500
It is a fact…..they are an army. immigration without assimilation is an invasion.
There are serious mental issues with these liberals and their supporters.

So sorry David Tremblay, but you fell right into this one. They are building mosques, not using/converting existing facilities, buying Korans and prayer rugs. They are passed the “contingency” stage. Also, you say you retired after 25 years service and now work in a civilian capacity at a base. You would not be posting here or anywhere else if that were the case, you would be out on your butt, as they would not tolerate you posting anywhere online, that is a security breach. Thanks for replying, I was curious, now I know, and all you had to do was open your mouth a little more and remove all doubt.

House them in Parliament? Why? Parliament has been infiltrated by their fellow Islamics including the Prime Ministurd already. Here’s a thought – load them all onto military cargo planes (since they’re already on the base anyway) and “house” them back to the Middle East cesspools which they created, and where they belong. They sure as h*ll don’t belong in Canada! They can take Jihadi Junior with them.

William MacDonnell, these are facts that are very easy to verify if you are interested. They used to be allowed to live in barracks but that changed almost ten years ago. And I do know that there are no refugees staying on any base because the Base Commander here told us.

Tremblay, you are full of shit. If barracks are available then the member is ordered to stay in barracks. Sending someone to a hotel at $100.00 per night versus 5 or 10 bucks to cover a room in single quarters. You must think people are stupid like you. By the way, what base are you at and how did your base commander get info on single quarters for every base in the country?

Hyacinth, I am not Sean Penson, I am David Tremblay lol. I have commented on these and other stories because I know facts about the military because I just retired after serving over 25 years and still work for the military as a civil servant. I have seen several articles originating from here that seem questionable on facts that people are sharing on facebook so I thought I would go to the source. I am also not a liberal. I am willing to vote for whoever is best suited to run our country.

Scott,
Picture this: A small informal protest in the hill, get 13 people, each holding a placard with a letter and what it stands for and have them stand neatly in a line to spell it out. Would make for an interesting photo and article for The Rebel no? :D

There isn’t one single refugee staying either short or long term on any military base in Canada. I live and work on one and this is clearly not true. There are in fact many soldiers staying in hotels long term but that is due to a treasury board decision made while Harper was PM almost ten years ago that doesn’t allow soldiers to stay in barracks if they were posted on what is called Imposed Restriction where they had to move away from their families and houses and had to be posted temporarily(2 years or less in theory but often times is longer) to a new base. This has nothing to do with refugees in any way!

Tremblay you are full of shit. How the fuk do you know if there is a refugee staying at any military base in Canada. You have no way of identifying this information to be true or false. Your statement that soldiers are not allowed to stay in barracks if they were on Imposed Restriction is also bullshit. The truth is that soldiers must stay in barracks while on IR if barracks are available. Tremblay – just a pathetic little troll.

D Mary,
Tremblay is a troll, to verify check out his other posts on other articles and compare. Also they are identical in style to Sean Penson posts. Pre-election articles Sean claimed he was a card carrying conservative yet continually bad mouthed harper to the nth degree and idolized Justin’s policies, practices, photo-ops and so on in his posts, post election he dropped the façade of being conservative and just extolled the virtues of the Liberal Party infinitum. Tremblay is using the military as a backdrop for postings because – surprise surprise these articles involve the military. Coincidence? You be the judge.
commented 2016-02-10 16:25:12 -0500
D Mary, I did see these documents and what they described was a a contingency plan only. The Base Commander here had a very open briefing describing it as that only, and on this base no physical preparations were made but there were plans made on paper just in case if the flow of refugees exceeds the ability to move them to their new homes in the event of a blizzard(which it does occasionally snow in Canada) they could be temporarily housed until the weather clears. That is the plan, simple as that. On all bases there are already churches but not all bases have multi faith facilities(many do though). On those bases not already equipped including the one I work at, the churches here could have a room temporarily converted if needed. It is quite possible that a few Base Commanders in other areas flinched a bit but there never was any direction from government to do anything more than plan in case of emergency.
