According to the Ottawa Citizen, "Frontline federal employees who will be screening and managing the 25,000 Syrian refugees coming to Canada have been kept in the dark, say union leaders, despite draft plans suggesting that those being deployed should have been selected and trained by now."
So that’s Saturday morning.
Then Saturday night, John McCallum, the Immigration Minister, tweets this:
Unexpected pleasure to meet newly arrived Syrian refugees tonight at Humanity First event. Only 24,000+ to go! pic.twitter.com/cV3NEONHvU— John McCallum (@JohnMcCallumLPC) November 21, 2015
So Syrian migrants have already arrived?
But the people who are supposed to do background checks on them weren’t involved?
And that looks like they’re at a hotel or event venue — not in a holding facility. Does that mean they’re just free to come and go?
(PS: Look at McCallum's picture again and tell me what’s missing...)
