Now a theatre is refusing to show the classic film Gone With the Wind because it's "racist."
But what about new works of art? The climate of self-censorship is so pervasive in Hollywood right now, thanks to #MeToo and other movements, that I wonder what the future of entertainment will look like.
For every irreverent show like South Park, which runs for decades and wins awards, there are plenty of programs like Last Man Standing, which had huge ratings but was cancelled anyway for being too "right wing."
At least one writer I know is feeling the pressure...
