How NDP’s green energy subsidies will bring a toxic mess to Alberta countryside

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Commentator

The NDP have a big plan for Alberta’s beautiful countryside. They want to turn it into a graveyard for rusty wind turbines and toxic solar panels!

When voting on Bill 27, the Renewable Electricity Act, the NDP voted against a Wildrose amendment to make remediation and reclamation of green electricity projects part of the law.

This means all those green electricity companies that are given big incentives to move into Alberta to replace reliable, unsubsidized, coal have no legal responsibility to clean up the mess when their wild ride on taxpayer money comes to an end and they inevitably go broke. The NDP made sure of it.

Think it won’t happen?

It happens everywhere green energy is subsidized.

Watch my video to see some examples of green energy that failed when the taxpayer tap was turned off.

Alberta farmers will be dealing with rusting monsters and leaky solar panels in their hay fields because Rachel Notley didn’t give green energy the same strict reclamation rules that the oil and gas industry are required to follow.

And here I thought Rachel Notley cared about the environment.

cameron…pumpjacks and pumping stations are NOT solar powered…if you knew what you were talking about,it’s the data recording equipment et al, that have solar power and battery backup.i’d think you would research this before spouting off, but,i guess that’s what we should expect from a failed ndipstck candidate…

She’s a hypocrite. She could care a less about the environment or the people. She’s hell-bent on her implementing her ideology – has nothing to do with the climate, environment or anything else.

What % of pumping jacks are actually pumping oil ?
What % of pumping jacks are 100%solar powered.
commented 2016-12-25 13:47:10 -0500
Ezra do some research before posting dumb things.
9% of pump jacks and pumping stations are now powered by solar panels.
Your statement is against the oil patch and anyone against this now is against oil.

Thank you David and a very Merry Christmas to you and yours’ as well. Also to all the rebel journalists and all of my other fellow rebel readers.

These monstrosities run on Govt Subsidies . . .
when the subsidies end you have a landscape like Barstow California . . . thousands of rusting eyesores with oil running down the housings, some still spinning and killing birds.

@don KORNELSON…What was the total cost to set up your solar utopia? What do you have for back up power or are the panels invincible? In times of need what will your back up cost? Down the road when panels need to be replaced or upgraded what will your cost be? Or will they last forever? Will your battery storage last forever or will it need additional monies in the future? Call back in 20 years with a financial report, that would be helpful. In the mean time maybe you are the sucker????

If Notley could read this should be forwarded to her. She better learn to read, the writing is on the wall.

Thanks Robert Hewgill

Merry Christmas PETER N. down in Speedy Creek and ELTON BRAUN in the Hat.

Leaky solar panels?, does the writer even know what a solar panels is?…halfwits. I will have no power bill soon running solar, zero, so if you want to pay $200-300 month forever then be my guest but I’m opting out…suckers.

@ Robert Hewgill

You are right. It was well worth reading.

With cash in the trillions funding the GW scam it will be a real fight to kill this scam, the people benefiting will fight tooth and nail.

Grotesque, ugly, useless, regressive, wasteful damn windmills will be unfortunately going up because these lying, stealing, evil and hateful ndpees are bent on destroying our comfortable way of life and they will bulldoze their way through no matter who they hurt. Just learnt in the Calgary Sun that Albertans have paid A WHOPPING $385,000.00 FOR NUTLEY’S BIG HONKING SUBURBAN AND HER SECURITY DETAIL THIS YEAR. I NEVER REALIZED THIS DAMN WITCH COULD EVER BE SO EVIL IN ALL MY LIFE, AND SHE COULDN’T CARE LESS ABOUT ALL HER DECEPTIVE WAYS. I AM SO DAMN MAD AND FED UP AT ALL THE WASTEFUL PEOPLE IN ALL LEVELS OF GOVERNMENTS. WHAT GOOD ARE THEY ALL, THIS HAS GOT TO BE STOPPED.

Drew, I can’t disagree as I’m not sure what you mean by viable. Do you mean far enough away as to not cause health problems? Wind farms do look like hell though.
Merry Christmas all🎄

What the hell is wrong with these progressive socialist scum? They happily cause suffering and distress and try to restrict and ruin the quality of peoples lives , but they have a damn cow if a tree is harmed.

Alberta has had wind turbines in viable areas for a long time now. The key word being VIABLE!

Sun News had produced an excellent documentary on the bird blenders in ont. I’m glad I saved it and it’s worth a watch any one can dig it up again.

Too many lunch dates with the wicked witch from the east. They should both be……….locked up,
burned at the stake( oh i guess since ISIS has brought that one back i shouldn’t use that one)
tarred and feathered !
Boil that oil. Gather the feathers lying underneath these murdering bird mincers.

The amount of mining required to make these failures is insurmountable

The NDP are following failed policies. How does one overlook their own and others mistakes and not learn?

In Ontario, we have the pleasure of paying whether the windmills turn ,don’t turn, go backwards or fall over. We even pay the USA to take the power that the functioning windmills create.
commented 2016-12-23 20:00:48 -0500
Kelvin-the bird blenders can’t handle 100 km winds so they have to shut them down.
commented 2016-12-23 19:51:57 -0500
It is not the windmill that is a such is big problem—- It is that massive concrete base. It would be nice to see some prices on Removal cost .
Course ,we can’t mention removal——— while the Libs are still Saving the Planet by constructing the fucking things.

Bill Elder said, "Notley and Wynne must share the same jail cell … "

That would probably make Wynne happy … maybe Notley too.

For as big and ugly as these windmills are, the land owners don’t make as much money as if they would if they had a gas riser, which has a much smaller footprint. Plus if at anytime they stop turning , the landowners don’t get paid! Like it was their fault that the wind isn’t blowing. Plus they break down a lot. So depending on the breakdown, the landowner is stuck with a big piece of junk for yard art. I live in the south and watch the windmills quite often, and I can say that when the wind is blowing, there is a lot of windmills NOT turning. The 100 klm winds that we just sustained here over the last week not a windmill was turning.

Now anyone with a cutting torch can bring one of these behemoths down, kinda like falling a tree……a big tree

I suspect that this Carbon Tax will be used to pay loyal Liberals an exorbitant amount of Loot to remove wind mills and solar panels. It is just a viscous circle but they will be Saving the Planet for the Children. Sorta like WAR—- Destroy and then Rebuild.
commented 2016-12-23 19:20:21 -0500
Notley and Wynne must share the same jail cell or scaffold depending on how deep the malfeasance investigation goes.

Supposed to read hypocritical. Typical lefty bs. The facts just confuse them. Better to just blindly plow ahead and leave it to the right wingers to fix it.
