Imam Hassan Guillet was recently turfed as a federal Liberal Party candidate in Montreal's Saint-Leonard-Saint-Michel riding after some old social media posts were flagged by B’nai Brith.
But at a press conference in which he lamented his fate, Guillet denied being anti-Semitic and he essentially blamed the Liberal Party for not vetting him thoroughly enough.
Jonathan Kramer joined Guillet at the press conference to vouch for his friend, later commenting:
“[Hassan] is a winner, the Liberal Party is a loser.”
Guillet was “completely shocked” by his removal by the Liberals and is considering keeping his name on the ballot as an independent candidate ahead of the federal election in October if his candidacy is not reinstated
WATCH to see me ask him how he can defend his statements.
