Indonesia, the country that Canadian PM Justin Trudeau gave $14.25M of our tax dollars to, has sentenced two men to 85 lashes.
The Daily Mail reports that the two men, aged 20 and 23, were found guilty of breaking sharia law in the conservative province of Aceh.
Caning is a common punishment for drinking or gambling, but this is the first time it's being implemented for gay sex since it was banned under sharia.
The men were apparently caught in bed together back in March when sharia-loving “invigilates” broke into the house they were staying at. The men were then kicked and slapped by the thugs before police arrived and arrested the couple.
Judge Khairil Jamal said the men had been “proven legally and convincingly guilty of committing gay sex, the defendants are sentenced to 85 strokes of the cane in public.”
The names of those involved have not been released.
