Infrastructure Minister asked to explain $835,000 office renos -- taxpayers won’t like his answer

Brian LilleyArchive

Way back on November 4, CPC MP Andrew Scheer put an Order Paper question to the Liberal government asking what was spent on renovating Ministerial offices.

It turns out quite a bit was spent, especially in the department of Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, Amarjeet Sohi.

How much? Well, more than a Canadian might pay for a brand new home.

Watch as I go through the details and remember, this was just one Minister’s office.

Wait until you hear how he justifies the huge expense and, as I like to say, hang on to your wallet.

The Liberals prove me right again when I say they are entitled to their entitlements.

Isn’t it great that we have a government minister who can barely speak english.

No doubt he was picked because of the color of his skin as opposed to his communication skills.

Wouldn’t it have been smart for the PM to suggest he improve his english speaking skills first before he considers him for a cabinet position?

What??? $240,000 for office furniture. Unless your office is the size of a city block how can furniture cost that much. So pissed to know that my hard earned money is being wasted. Hate the Liberals, hate the NDP. Now I understand why people are going and living off the grid.

Henry Reardon,

This being the Liberal Party of Corruption, my guess is that 10%of the $800 000+ will go to the actual reno’s and furniture. The rest will go to the LPC civil service and its unions.

I sure would love to see some before and after pictures to see what our tax dollars got spent on. Do you suppose there’s any chance the previous ministers took pictures of their offices that we could use to compare to their current appearance?

Pictures would also be handy to see if the renovations actually happened at all. Given that these were Liberal renovations, it wouldn’t be shocking to find that the renovations actually took place at the minister’s house or cottage or that there weren’t any actual renovations, just a big contribution to the minister’s re-election fund….

I have to ask this question again. Of all the people who are now voicing their outrage at sunni ways & the libs, how many of you voted for them? There seems to be a lot from central & eastern canaduh who are now upset.

All tyrants have flashy, garish palaces. You can’t expect Canadian tyrants to have any less, can you?

The fish rots from the head down. Baby Doc made a $10 M renovation to 24 Sussex his first priority. The letters LPC stand for the Liberal Party of Corruption, because they are very liberal in their corruption.

Meanwhile, we into high water season and First Nation water systems are still waiting modernization, which was supposed to be the first infrastructure project under the Liberals. I guess removing accountability on the chiefs and creating another inquiry to keep CUPE bureaucrats employed at Aboriginal Affairs covered that off. More LPC.

I could build a house for $243,000, the amount they spent on furniture alone. That must be some real nice furniture.

Sohi stands up and gives some incoherent babble in a feigned attempt at English, and upon finishing the background pigeons all start flapping their wings and cheering in glee over their successful theft of a BUNDLE of tax payer money. The ONLY bright spot in all of this is that Sohi is not around Edmonton as much. My tax dollars buying over the top office furniture and I’m sitting down to left over hot dogs for lunch. Hm, oh ya, Libs in power. I guess it could be worse, could be Venezuela and real dog for dinner!!

I just love the way Liberals say they are making “investments” when they are spending outrageous amounts of other peoples money fixing the joint up and buying some furniture. All of these expenditures depreciate in value right from the start.
