ESPN has been getting rightfully ridiculed on social media for its decision to pull announcer Robert Lee from covering a game between William & Mary and the University of Virginia. Their reason? They believed viewers would be offended by his name.
As Daily Wire reports, it's very unlikely that Lee was named after Confederate general Robert E. Lee. The Asian announcer is also one of ESPNU's biggest names.
According to the network, the decision was made “as the tragic events in Charlottesville were unfolding, simply because of the coincidence of his name.” Additionally, ESPN claimed it's “a shame that this is even a topic of conversation.”
Yes. It's a shame that your ridiculous decision to pull an announcer from covering a game because of his name made you the biggest mockery in sports.

Do you think ESPN is being too politically correct?
