My French colleague here in the European Parliament, Nicolas Bay MEP was kind enough to give us a rapid fire analysis of the European Union's growth strategy.
In his remarks (translated from French), Bay touches on the money making its way to refugees through the agricultural budget and through handouts to Turkey. Furthermore, there's the challenge of paying EU staff so well that he believes they serve the political apparatus that keeps them fed instead of their own nations' interests.
If you want to hear a more detailed breakdown on Turkey, please see my video on the EU's slippery vote to put off the country's accession to the European Parliament.
Nicolas Bay is the co-founder of the ENF (Europe of Nations and Freedom) group to which I am a UK-based member here in Brussels.
