Sina Dehghan was only 19 when he was arrested by the Iranian revolutionary guard at a military barracks in Tehran back in 2015. His offense was allegedly insulting Islam on the instant messaging app LINE.
According to The Daily Mail, he has now been sentenced to death for what he said about the Muslim Prophet Muhammad, although what was said has never been revealed.
Human rights activists claim that Dehghan was fooled into singing his own confession under the belief he would be released if he did so. However, after signing the confession, he remained incarcerated.

In Iran, insulting Muhammad, the prophet of Islam, is punishable by death. However, if the accused tells the court insults were a result of anger or a mistake, the sentenced may only be 74 lashings.
What a wonderful country Iran is!
