Users on Instagram were able to vote on whether or not a captured ISIS terrorist would be put to death.
A militant Iraqi group used their Instagram account, @iraqiswat, to post an image of a captured ISIS jihadi and shared it to their 80,000 followers.
The caption read, “You can vote For (kill him or let him go) You have one houer to vote We will post his fate after one houer Tag your friends and take your right take your reveng from isis right now. Please we dont have the time just one houer so tag your friends.”
A follow-up image said that the votes had resulted in the terrorist's death.
While have some questioned the authenticity of the images and the 'vote', Instagram removed the photos for violating its policy.
“Some of the content on this account violated our policies, which is why we removed it as soon as it was reported to us,” a spokesman for Instagram said.
