Anti-Muslim graffiti that's appeared in Calgary has many concerned.
Police, politicians and the media are taking it very seriously.
But it's important to put this "hate crime" in perspective.
I can't help but notice that Calgary authorities seem pretty selective about which kind of "racism" they take seriously. Remember how they ignored that Muslim mob that attacked a Jewish family?
I also look at a couple of recent "hate crimes" that turned out to be hoaxes.
Does this graffiti fall into that category? I'll try to figure that out.
My first guest is Alison Clapton, who owns an educational equestrian centre in Alberta. She talks about how the NDP's farm-unionization law, Bill 6, will hurt her business and her family's way of life.
Then I'm joined by Glen Schmidt, the CEO of Laricina Energy, to talk about reports that Alberta's carbon tax is the result of secret negotiations between oil industry tycoons and environmental lobbyists, to fashion this law in their own favour.
Rachel Notley's Alberta NDP just announced a $3 billion a year carbon tax.
