The German Press Council has revised its code of conduct on reporting on a criminal suspect's ethnicity and religion.
According to Breitbart, the voluntary, industry-run body says a person's ethnicity should not be published “unless there is a justified public interest in doing so”.
Considering the amount of refugee rapes and Muslim crimes in the country, it's hard to see where there would ever not be a justified public interest.
The previous guidance said that such details should only be published if there was a link between a person's ethnicity or religion and the crime.
