Is Quebec wasting your tax dollars by funding an Insane Clown Posse concert?

StaffRebel Columnist

For the past few years, Rockfest, a music festival in Montebello, has received funding from the Quebec government.

While last year's event featured the likes of Linkin Park and System of a Down, this year's event features multiple punk rock and metal bands as well as hip hop duo 'Insane Clown Posse'.

The group, which emerged from Detroit in 1989, is composed of two grown men who dress as clowns preform a style of hip hop called 'horrorcore'.

Its two members go by the personas of 'Violent J' and 'Shaggy 2 Dope'.

In 2013, the duo was named the 'worst rappers of all time' by GQ magazine.

And they were named one of the '15 most hated bands in the last 30 years' by Salon.

Last year, Rockfest's found Alex Martel told the state broadcaster that the festival receives $65,000 a year from Tourism Quebec.

Martel even said that the festival was promised 10 times that amount.

Should your tax dollars go towards a festival where 'the most hated band in the world' is scheduled for perform?

Perhaps they should make the Quebec government honorary members. The name would be fitting.

GQ magazine is for faggots, they likely have sung praises for other shitty rappers… And Salon magazine, who the fuck cares what those goofs think, Salon has published articles defending pedophiles, saying, “its a disease like alcoholism”…

How much is the Quebec government giving this festival compared to what Onterrible paid Kanye Fucking West to close up the ScamAm Games?? And the “Progressive Conservative” John Tory was so excited to announce it, then gave the key of the city to that stupid Drake douche. Toronto’s “Imma kill you nigguh!!” gun violence problem is owed to their public embrace of this hiphop plague.

“The town of less than 1000 people hosts over 200,000 music fans that support the community with over $10,000,000 of reciprocal revenue as a result of this just 2 day event” – From the 2014 festival.

At a sales tax of %9.975 thats a return to the province of almost a million bucks. More if you count the income tax people working at the festival made. Not bad for a 65K investment.

But don’t let math and reality interfere with your narrative.

“Is Quebec wasting your tax dollars by funding an Insane Clown Posse concert?”

Probably. They are wasting Alberta’s Provincial Equalization transfer money on everything else, so why not a clown too? After all, all politicians in and from Quebec are clowns and we pay for their extravagant salaries.

ICP is awesome, paying them equalization payments from every province is i and c

ICP has a huge following (I’m not one of them, except from a curiosity point of view) they are definitely not mainstream and never get air time on the radio, but its because they are very controversial not because they are no talent slobs. They are actually very creative including business wise. They can be raw and many find them offensive however they would be a huge draw at a festival.

BUT I will tell you what I find to be much more offensive, and that is the Quebec government giving Celine Dion 50,000 taxpayer dollars toward her husbands out of this world expensive sending off. I mean seriously??

Because nothing screams rock n roll like being funded by the government.

Anyone still old enough to remember “Rock Against Bush” and punk bands smiling in photos with John Kerry are well aware rock musicians are hypocrites and slaves to a specific political party.

I used to listen to ICP, and I know plenty about their past. It would appear that The Rebel has jumped on board the anti-white train. Let me explain :

ICP is one of the innovators of the Hip-Hop scene and they have a LOT of hate going at them. They were around before Eminem and ate a lot of flack simply for being white :

Sources: GQ Magazine; Salon… Might as well throw Nickelodeon in there too. now we have a triad of credibility here, lol.

I never in a million years thought The Rebel would take such an Elite Daily-ish move here. These guys are hated mainly for being white. Nothing else worth compare to other drama musicians get up to. This is the kind of crap I expect from a high school flyer.

Insane Clown Posse?

Wasn’t the NDP convention held last weekend in Edmonton?

Living in Texas, I tend to tune out anything remotely Canadian.
