This party was once a titan of British politics, winning the European elections in 2014, and achieving almost 4 million votes in 2015.
But after Brexit, and following its disastrous results in the 2017 election, it looks like the party could be in a death spiral.
Henry Bolton, who narrowly beat Anne Marie Waters in the last leadership election, was forced to step down – and now, the party is lumped with £175,000 in legal costs. As well as possibly going bankrupt, the party may not even be able to stand candidates in the local elections in May.
