Cedarbrae Mall in Scarborough, Ontario has just become scene to Canada's latest suspected terror attack.
On the evening of Saturday, June 3 Rehab Dughmosh, 32, is alleged to have entered the mall's Canadian Tire, clad in an ISIS bandana. Sources say the mother of two began swinging a golf club at store employees while screaming "Allahu Akbar."
After employees pinned her down, Dughmosh is alleged to have pulled a large knife from under her clothing.
Despite having occurred days before, the Canadian public first learned about the attack on Tuesday when the suspect appeared in a Toronto court. There, clothed in a full niqab and accompanied by an Arabic translator, Dughmosh pledged allegiance to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Bagdadi.
Dughmosh is being charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, assault, uttering threats, carrying a concealed weapon, and two counts of possession of a weapon.
While no terror charges have yet been laid, Canada’s counter-terrorism law enforcement unit is reported to be working in tandem with Toronto Police Services on this investigation.
