UPDATE: Islamic State shoots down Russian Helicopter with US TOW missile system

Victor LaszloRebel Commentator

A Russian military helicopter was shot down and both pilots killed over the Islamic State.

The Russians claim a US made TOW missile system was used.

According to Breitbart

Russia’s Ministry of Defense released the following statement:

“On July 8, Russian military pilot-instructors Evgeny Dolgin and Ryafagat Khabibulin,  were conducting a calibration flight on a Syrian Mi-25 (export version of the Mi-24) helicopter loaded with ammunition in the province of Homs.”

Russia’s Interfax news agency cited a defense ministry source claiming the helicopter was brought down using an American TOW antitank missile system.

“According to reports, terrorists used the American TOW system to down the helicopter, which, having exhausted its ammunition, was on the course back to the base at an extremely low altitude,” the source was quoted as telling Interfax.

Below is a video of the tube launched, optically tracked, wire guided system used on tanks.

The model of helicopter is pictured in the banner.

It may be worth watching for possible Russian retaliation. They typically do not take well to losing military assets.

Below, actual footage of the Russian helicopter being shot down:

That was hardly extremely low altitude for the Mi 24/35. They were likely staying above the reach of the RPG 7’s practical unguided, targeting range, not expecting any guided missiles. These guys often fly a lot lower when in combat. Titanium armor and rotor blades shrug off most ground fire. It’s the larger AAA and the missiles that are the worst threat to these flying tanks. Any way you slice it’s not a job for the faint of heart.

Just what I thought. Obama is arming Assad’s enemies. His claim he is fighting ISIS is pure bull.

These missiles could be part of the weapons deal Hillary had going with ISIS in Benghazi when she was pretending at Secretary of State – “What difference at this point does it make?” , but the shooting down of the Russian helicopter with American supplied hardware could also be another false flag like the sinking of the Maine and the Lusitania, the Reichstag fire, Bay of Tonkin incident, Operation Northwoods, to name but a few…
Considering how close we’ve been driven to war, collapse and anarchy already, it won’t take much to light the fuse…
“The Russian president was meeting with foreign journalists at the conclusion of the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 17th”:
Cui bono?

That missile could have been a TOW however the TOW is not typically used against air targets – there are a multitude of weapons in the middle at – including those we gave to the rebels – who are not all our friends.

After all the US trained and armed a bunch of rebels and then they disappeared.

I doubt the Russians are going to turn tail and run like our cowardly PM!

If the Islamic State really has TOW missiles, why hasn’t it used them before?

I bet Russia would like to drop one of their new nukes on ISIS.

Wasn’t that long ago that the state department admitted to leaving tow missles but they had batteries the would have died before they could be used.
Few months ago on Atlas Shrugs there was a story, with captured video Intel that showed Isis technicians refactoring tables loaded with TOW batteries in a warehouse in their capital.

Watch for many more airplanes getting shot down. CBC was smart enough to broadcast the news that the PM’s plane was tracked all the way to some over seas, important photo op, using a normal free phone app because no one thought to turn off the transponder/locator switch.
No wonder it looks like a girly boy toy.

It is a shame those two Russians lost their lives, but at least they did not survive just to be tortured and/or used as a hostage by ISIS. Small comfort, I suppose.

If it is true that a US TOW missile was used, it would just support the fact that Obama was so eager to pull out of Iraq that he abandoned US military equipment.

Again the US appears to be complicit.

Well one thing is for certain, the Russians can’t finger a friendly fire incident from a Canadian F18 fighter.
Crank it up on those Daesh cowards.

Wonder if this TOW was part of the stolen weapons cache from the US Benghazi compound – Did Hillary make rescuers stand down to let the weapons fall into the hands of Obama’s favorite terrorist group?

Since 9/11 – IN THE NAME OF ISLAM: 31,302 Attacks, 198,647 Killed, 278,983 Injured.

I would usually be skeptical about claims from Russia , but i would not argue with this one, nor is it very surprising.

Turn up the heat on those ISIS devils. Go Russia Go.

This should be good.

Could also be that the Russians don’t want to admit that they got hit by one of those Muslim home made missile conversions that were all the talk on The Rebel a while ago.
