In a parallel universe, Jeremy Corbyn is leader of the opposition and he’s slamming Theresa May for not opting for No Deal. Life-long Brexiteer Jeremy Corbyn, for some reason, now appears to be leading a Remain-party and trying to force the government to rule out No Deal. Today, Corbyn claimed that the Prime Minister is “clearly not listening” over his Brexit claims, and renewed his demand for No Deal to be taken off the table.

Michel Barnier, the chief negotiator of Brexit for the European Union, was recorded on Tuesday saying that Britain should still have to pay the £39 billion divorce settlement even if we leave the EU without a deal.

Theresa May has had just three working days to turn around a new proposal to the House of Commons, after her withdrawal agreement was shot down in a historic defeat. That new proposal was announced today in the Commons, and it was underwhelming to say the least. I listened intensely, and heard very little substance – just more promises and suggestions that she will talk to other parties, come up with a new solution, and then take it back to the EU and see if they’ll go for it.

Predictably, the Germans are getting worried about the prospects of a No Deal Brexit. A letter signed by the frontrunner to succeed Angela Merkel as the next German chancellor, Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, along with leaders from German politics, industry and art, said: “From the bottom of our hearts, we want them to stay”.
