Jamie Oliver “doesn't want me to be free. He wants to be my dad”

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

I get it. Lots of us, including me, could probably stand to drink fewer Cokes. But celebrity chef Jamie Oliver's crusade against sugary drinks isn't just an attack on "unhealthy eating."

Oliver is trying to undermine one of the key components of a free society:

My ability to decide how I'll live my life, and be responsible for the consequences.

The enemy is not Jamie Oliver but his prescribed methods of dealing with the real enemy: The food chemistry/over-refined food processes.

90% of the additives in processed foods have irrefutable studies identifying them as cancer-causing agents – we went from 1 in 50 having cancer in 1900 to 1 in 2 having cancer today if it’s not our diet what is it? Makes sense to eat right to avoid disease. But that’s your choice. Refined long-chain molecule sugars (fructose, dextrose etc.) create metabolic problems as your liver has a hard time breaking these down – diabetes is certain in long term use – have a Coke once in a while just don’t make a habit of eating refined sugars – you know the risk, you make the choice, not Jamie Oliver

I’d rather have a naturally brewed craft beer over a “Coke” any day , but hey, whatever cranks yer turkey, jerky.
