You’d think that a group of religious Jews being attacked by a pack of teenagers while they were walking down a street in Toronto, would be big news.
The incident happened not far from The Rebel Media world headquarters here, in a very Jewish area; Jewish bakeries, synagogues, Jewish homes. Literally two bagel shops next to each other. It’s a couple of blocks away from the Barbara Frum Library.
What gang would even be there, in the heart of Jewtopia?
Now the first thing I noticed when I read the Toronto Police Services press release was, they didn’t describe the suspects, even though they have one suspect in custody; and they said that there were four victims, who surely and obviously saw them.
And even if they couldn’t describe them precisely, they could surely know a few things — were they male or female? Were they also Jewish? Were they Muslim? White supremacists or something — that’s what the media tells us to be on the lookout for.
So who perpetrated this attack in Toronto? Two sources in the community tell me that, strangely, surprisingly, it was young Filipino men — teenagers.
I was quite surprised, because in Toronto, I can tell you from my own observations, the Jewish and Filipino communities are close and friendly — there’s not a Jewish institution in the area, whether it’s a synagogue or a daycare or a restaurant, that doesn’t have Filipino staff in intimate roles.
I’ve never heard of anything like this; and for it to have that Nazi edge to it is bizarre.
If the two reports I received are borne out, it will come as a shocking surprise not only to the Jews of the city, but to the Filipino community itself, too, which will be appalled and embarrassed by this. And it wouldn’t surprise me if these attackers were subjected to a lot of correction from their own community.
I’m optimistic in that regard — I think that the Filipino leadership, especially in the churches, will probably be harder on these attackers than either the Jews, or the civic authorities or police.
And at the moment I write this, I can see that the media is already losing interest in the story; and as I write this, Justin Trudeau has not yet written a tweet about it; so every moment that passes confirms for me that my two sources are correct; for if it had been a white supremacist group or right wingers who attacked these Jews, Trudeau would weaponize this moment into a political denunciation of his enemies.
The left doesn’t really don’t care about racism. They only care about racism from certain people against certain people, as I'll remind you tonight...
They certainly don't care about anti-Semitism any more, except as a political weapon against conservatives.
This trend began in 1967. That was the year of the Six Day War, when the tiny state of Israel smashed the combined armies of several Arab states that had vowed to wipe it off the map. Israel decided to live instead; decided that the Jewish people had been victims for long enough. And so they won — and so they were no longer the underdog.
So the left didn’t like them anymore.
The Toronto attack is awful no matter who did it; but I sort of hope it was a rogue anomaly of a pack of teenagers who just need a good, harsh disciplining by their own families and communities.
Because if it was a Muslim gang — European style — not only would it likely not be condemned by mainstream leadership in their community, but it would be winked at by Justin Trudeau, too — who would probably even offer compensation to the gang, and say they have an “important voice”.
NEXT: As you may recall, earlier this year I travelled to Israel as part of The Rebel Media's latest mission to Israel.
FINALLY: Your messages to me!
