Jimmy Buffett boosts Florida Democrat, fans plan "Parrothead" boycott

Amanda HeadRebel Contributor

I've been a Parrothead since I was old enough to sing along with "Come Monday," and this betrayal hurts my heart.

Why, Jimmy, why would you change your music and lyrics for a concert to promote left-wing Andrew Gillum for the midterms on Tuesday, November 6 against Iraqi veteran Ron DeSanctis?

Gillum, the current Tallahassee mayor and the Democrat candidate for Florida's governor race, is battling ethics charges stemming from alleged FBI freebies and reported taxpayer-funded perks.

Nearly all of your music, including your most famous song "Margaritaville," is about Florida, Jimmy. Democrats turned California into a sloppy, insolvent state, and your biggest fans are appalled that you want the same fate for Floridians.

I’m a Buffett fan from long ago. He’s been a fun guy to listen to and his melodious and lyrical music is among the best. He is also a bit of a modest person, I understand. BUT, like most celebrities, his politics are dismal. Like Carlos Santana, who’s music is also superb, these people have no idea of the real world around them in regards to good governance. Does this come from being spoiled by their own success? I believe that most of his fans will never listen to his stupid endorsements.

Why do musicians have to get political and ruin their reputations? This twit, Neil Young, and other formerly good musicians can’t resist angering their fan base. Worse yet, nobody likes to be preached at. People retreat to music because they want to escape the world of politics and stupidity.

Amanda, you could easily do a show or two on conservatives feeling betrayed by the treasonous and delusional babble of our once favorite movie actors, and other such ‘stars’ – who we find out are ignorant, useful-idiot, lefties spewing their Marxist nonsense and BS!
I guess it’s better to know…
I was born in the 50’s in Toronto, and lived in the Keys in the early 70’s, and LA in the late 80’s I have never been a big ‘fan’ of Mr. Buffeyy…I recognize how ‘popular’ his music was…in his time.
After the mid 80’s I was listening to mostly old timey country music.

Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy….why couldn’t you have just kept quiet? Saw
John Mellancamp recently, same thing, had to say something political.
As the Dixie Chicks learned, just shut up and sing, keep your political views to yourself.
