John Cleese says political correctness will lead to an Orwellian Nightmare in new video

StaffRebel Columnist

It's short and to the point.

In a new video, John Cleese takes on political correctness and the artificial right not to be offended.

“The idea that you have to be protected from any kind of uncomfortable emotion is one I absolutely do not subscribe to,” he says.

He then went on about modern day college students.

“If people can't even control their own emotions, then they need to stop trying to control other people's behavior,” he adds. “I've been warned not to go to university campuses because the political correctness has been taken from being a good idea which is 'lets not be mean' to people who are not able to look after themselves very well. That's a good idea. To the point where any kind of any kind of criticism of any group can be labeled cruel.”

Check it out, it's definitely a good watch.

You’ve misquoted the essential line of John Cleese’s argument. “If people can’t even control their own emotions, then they need to START trying to control other people’s behavior.”
That is why the PC left are so hell bent on controlling their fellow citizens through regulation and the courts, as they can’t or won’t control their own emotions.

Political correctness is a construct of the left. It is never anything but poisonous.

PC madness is “the idea that you have to be protected from any uncomfortable emotion.” —John Cleese
This is also the definition of victimhood.

People who can’t control their own emotions are inclined to try to control other people’s behavior. —Robert Skinner, London psychiatrist, as told by John Cleese
This is also the definition of paranoia.

Remember, Political Correctness simply means censorship.

Censorship is not just immoral, but is illegal without a court ruling proving that the act of censorship does not violate the Canadian Bill of Rights guarantee of the inalienable right to freedom of speech.
I can say anything I want, even hate speech, as long as it is not a threat of damage or harm; or legally slanderous.

The neurosis of the Irrationals must be called out and crushed with logic.

All comedy is critical. —John Cleese

The biggest joke of all is Justin Trudeau, but he is like the Joker of Comic Book fame.

In Canada it seems that only those on the “right” offend; but those on the “left” truly believe that what they espouse is perfectly acceptable!

I bet he hasn’t done any Obama jokes although he’s had plenty to say about George Bush etc.

The vast majority of comedy has a punch line that offends someone. If a comic offends me with their joke against God or Christianity i take it in the cheek. They will also offend a dirty politician or a drug user or a stupid person or even a whining handicap person. It IS indeed a way of insight into humanity. Cleese is right, people insult us every day in every way. If I don’t like some of Chris Rock’s materials (and he is very filthy sometimes) I simply tune out.

Maybe that’s why so many hard-line Liberals I know really have no sense of humour. Of course there’s an “intelligence” influence here as well.

why are comedians the only ones making any sense these days? maybe we need to switch the definition of ‘politics’ and ‘comedy’…just sayin’.

Watch what you say and do in Canada or the “Liberal Inquisition” will take you and your family away.
