Trudeau’s latest mea culpa uttered on his seemingly endless Apology-Palooza tour came when he formally apologized for Canada’s refusal to accept 907 German Jews fleeing the Nazis almost 80 years ago under the Liberal government of Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie.
King’s Liberal government said “nein” when the MS St. Louis asked for permission to dock in Halifax, and it was therefore forced to return to Europe where 254 of the Jews onboard would end up dead in concentration and internment camps.
It was an unspeakable tragedy that was so easily preventable but alas, the Mackenzie King Liberals subscribed to a “none is too many” policy for Jews seeking refuge in Canada.
Last Wednesday, almost eight decades after this shameful decision, Justin Trudeau delivered an apology and incredibly, actually used the “J-word” when referencing the victims rather than saying, “boat-folks” or something.
The reason that’s significant is that in the past on TWO separate occasions, Justin failed to mention “Jews” in prepared statements commemorating the Holocaust!
Let’s not forget that the Mackenzie King Liberals turned away genuine refugees fleeing genuine persecution in 1939, and today the Trudeau Liberals have nothing but open arms for bogus refugees who freely walk across the U.S./Canada border.
We did indeed observe Justin getting a tad misty-eyed last Wednesday in the House of Commons when he delivered this long-overdue apology, but don’t be fooled by those particular tears that were perhaps of the crocodilian variety.
