Justin Trudeau was in favour of CPP expansion before he was against it

Brian LilleyArchive

The Conservatives are saying they are open to allowing Canadians to put more money away in the Canada Pension Plan if they want to.

So why is the opposition so against this and demanding the government force Canadians to save?

That's not the best option for everyone. I explain why.

What do you think of the Conservatives' proposal? Tell me in the comments.

Gail said: “Some people make it sound like the CPP is running out of money in the very near future. Perhaps I misunderstand but that is the thought I am often left with.” If the Liberals and the Dippers gain power this fall, it will be a certainty. What does the rich trust fund kid or the thieving Dippers care!

Well said Brian. I collect CPP but I also make use of an RRSP plus a TFSA. I have planned for my own retirement and I don’t expect the Government to look after me every step of the way. That is how I was raised. I would love to see you, Brian, sit down with Ian Lee and have him share his thoughts about this entire subject. One thing that does confuse me – I understand from previously listening to Ian Lee and other economists, CPP is good for another 75 years. Some people make it sound like the CPP is running out of money in the very near future. Perhaps I misunderstand but that is the thought I am often left with.

Dickhead Trudeau is now against this because by letting us put more into our CPP, he want to take that money as taxes to fritter it away like Wynne does with our taxes in Ontario. If you want vote liberal in October, do so, but then do not complain when you have nothing left but the shirt on your back and old pair of blue jeans and no house and live in the car, because that is about what will happen if that village Idiot Trudeau wins a Majority.

The opposition says people should save … yet they are against TFSA … I guess the issue differences will figure themselves out.

Thank you Mr. Lilley for clarifying the whole mess.

It has already been reported that Trudope wants to raid pension plans to fund Liberal Gov’t spending (Butt Head’s Environmental Agenda perhaps?). That is why he prefers mandatory confiscation, not voluntary. More money! Woo Hoo! The Liberals can go on a spending spree and reward their Liberal friends a la’ Adscam! Not forgetting the Liberals consider money earned by working Canadians as belonging to them, not the person working for the wage. The Dippers are no different.

It’s getting pretty glaring out there.

Big gubermant, big taxes – vote the communist/liberal/ndp/marxist pigs. They want to control all aspects of your life.

Hang onto more of your earned cash. Have choices. Conservative is the way.

Let’s see how stupid Canadians are on this one. Keep cash. Give gubermant MOAR cash. Pick one.
