Katie Hopkins in Israel: “I feel like I'm being tortured” by Muslim call to prayer

Katie HopkinsShillman Fellow

I may be in a Jewish neighbourhood in Hebron, but all I can hear is the deafening sound of the Muslim call to prayers, which sounds like it's coming from 40,000 different mosques all around me.

This is my idea of torture...

At least the other religions don’t scream on loudspeakers, all different, loud loud loud!

All religion is torture, what’s the big deal yo?! Priests babbling on and on putting us all to sleep or Imam’s calling for a brain washing session or war chant, or Jews headbanging with their hats and giant sideburns at the wailing wall — it’s all the precisely the same bullshit: reinforcing of group identity.

And through the heart of Jerusalem itself, the call to prayer is done with an unearthly atonal edge ESPECIALLY on Shabbat (Saturdays). And with Western amplification, of course.

And of course, we know the translation of the Arabic. All allowed by Israel in some twisted form of tolerance of the intolerable.

It’s not a religious ritual, it’s a political ritual with the veneer of some kind of supremacist “religiosity”.

Katie, it is torture…that’s why they do it.
