Katie Hopkins on Skid Row: Over 4000 homeless — and 40,000 rats

Katie HopkinsShillman Fellow

Here in Los Angeles, mere blocks away from beautiful homes, shops and restaurants, is a place of famine, strife, and disease.

If you go looking for it on a tourist map, as I did, you can't find Skid Row. It's been blotted from the page as if it doesn't exist.

But exist it does. I spent a couple of days and nights here, and the conditions in which these Americans are living is worse than I expected...

Glenn, I had a little trouble listening to that. A little sand in my eye I guess.

I wonder if Hollywood will hold a fundraiser so they can congratulate themselves for something they could have done Anonymously?

And the Left wing twits who cause this crap on the people that actually care enough to do anything because they may be (GASP) Christian based. The SJW crowd virtue signals and uses them as an excuse to raise taxes while the Conservative people actually feed them.
Reminds me of an episode of Family Guy where Quagmire berates Brian for his virtue signalling and says “You want to feed the poor, GRAB A LADLE!”

California looks like the occupy movement on steroids.

The ugly truth about California is that taxpayers are fleeing the state in droves .As tax revenue declines, services decline and reach the total failure point.
Sanctuary cities are going to fail just like a third world overcrowded ferry boat sinks.
Liberals destroy everything they touch with their unrealistic socialist values that have never worked and never will.
New York is becoming a pig pen. Chicago is a rat infested crime center with schools filled with displaced children from South America crowding out the African Americans that so desperately need to get out of the whole their Democrat Party has dug for them .
Los Angeles ,San Francisco , Chicago , New York . Disasters all.

The main street of this district is Fifth Street…refered to in street slang as “the nickle” ….there was a made for TV movie about this street done back in the late 1970s called “On the Nickle”…The theme from that movie was part of what made Tom Waits famous.

What’s really sad, Katie Hopkins, is that if you make too much of a fuss about those people being there, the police will come in and destroy what little they have for a home and run them off to parts unknown. Then they’ll complain about whistleblowers making their lives that much more difficult. We saw that in Vancouver, Canada. For the Olympics, they chased them all out of East Hastings so as to “clean up” the place. They weren’t gone, they still have the same problems and they are still marginalized and ignored on the streets of Vancouver.
