Latest contender injects new energy into Conservative Party leadership race

Brian LilleyArchive

It’s taken a little while but the race for Conservative leader is finally here as each of the three known candidates so far, have stepped up their game.

Kellie Leitch who announced in March, has launched her website and social media campaign.

Maxime Bernier held a re-launch event in his riding, putting out a new video announcing his bid for the leadership.

And now Michael Chong, a third contender has held a well-scripted announcement at the National Press Theatre in Ottawa.

Chong has some ideas that may or may not sit well with the base but his entrance into the race has at least added some energy to it. Watch my video to get the status so far and remember what you need to do if you want to have your say.

I don’t like the idea of Maxime running for the party. Harper should have turfed him when he took files to his apt when he was dating a former girlfriend who was once involved with the Hells Angels. And if the cons vote in another leader from Quebec, I’m done with them.

Please allow me to amend my post.

Never anyone from Quebec: no more liberals in disguise…especially Bernier.

Not Leitch: we need someone with actual experience who wants to represent ALL Canadians not just women.

Not Chong for supporting bogus carbon taxes which will destroy the economy beyond liberals’ wildest dreams.

It is said “better the devil you know than the one you don’t”.
We all know S. Harper, perhaps he should run for the leadership again!
He, at least has the experience and experience IS a good tutor!

As long as we DJBT!

No Bernier, Chong has capitulated to fraud with his carbon pricing thing, I see his point but this whole Climate Change itenary, Carbon , Carbon footprint UN definition is a the biggest Fraud in human history!
The UN and IPCC is trying to deny simple photosynthesis and literally charge human beings for the privilege of breathing!
One cannot beat the Devil by dealing with the Devil!

LISA DAWN CHENEY – Agreed!… What a bunch of opportunity-seeking sad sacks… Their level of “fire in the belly” would have them having a hard time getting elected to council in “Big Rat’s Ass, NFLD”… (And sorry if there is such a community in NFLD!)… To quote a passage from Arthur Miller’s ‘Death Of A Salesman’:- “The woods are burning boy!”… The woods indeed are “burning” in Canadian politics right now and the conservatives of Canada needs somebody articulate and dynamic enough to light a fire in all of our bellies… These three fall short of that requirement by the depth of Niagara Falls…

So Chong thinks Canadians will fall for a confidence game when it comes to carbon taxes? I’m tired of all these arms of government moving around the money as bureaucrats skim off every round of the people’s money. Our system of government is like an obstacle course and every few years they add a new obstacle. I want a conservative government that will say no to the idea of man made climate change and make real changes that protect our environment and force countries like China to do their part in cleaning up the sludge they continue to pour onto their land and dump into the oceans without paying a dime.

“I guess the next best”

I abhor carbon taxes of any kind, but if they have to done, and it appears that they are being done, then making the carbon taxes a provably revenue neutral is I guess they new best. Emphasis on provable.

Also for those of us who want to create a Wealthy and Prosperous Nation where everyone can get ahead – and it won’t come from a useless public education system ❤️

Brian Lilley, there never has been any division – our Party is deeply Reform-rooted and open to all who want low taxes / small Government and more and more of our money in our pockets where it belongs ❤️

Any politician who subscribes to the AGW hoax and fraud scheme are dead to me and will never receive my vote or support of any kind. Patrick Brown has lost my confidence, please don’t let the federal party nominate someone who has also drank the Kool-Aid.

I think the only contenders should be Bernier, Kenny, and MacKay.
