Three UCLA basketball players caught shoplifting high-end Louis Vuitton merchandise in China could have faced years in prison.
Enter President Trump.
Applying his Art of the Deal tactics, Trump was able to negotiate the release of these three knuckleheads.
For these kids and their families, it was akin to winning the lottery given the bleak consequences they faced, but because Trump is Trump, even this act of graciousness must get politicized.
The father of one of the students, Lavar Ball, hasn’t bothered to thank the President or even give him credit for his son’s release, repeatedly minimizing Trump’s involvement.
He had this to say on CNN:
“If I feel nobody did anything, I don’t have to go around saying thank you to everybody."
Yeah, nobody did anything. Your son was just magically released from a Chinese jail by a passing leprechaun. Ball’s ingratitude was so egregious it even had CNN’s Chris Cuomo going to bat for Trump!
Lavar Ball needs to man up, apologize for his shocking lack of gratitude, and thank the President for saving his son.
