Leaders Debate: Ezra Levant explains why every Canadian should be worried

Rebel Staff

Stephen Harper — whatever else you may think about him — has a mastery of Canada’s economy. It’s not just that he’s an economist by profession. It’s that he has steered Canada through a series of world economic crises since the 2008 Great Recession. Real life experience — what works and what doesn’t. And unlike his thinly-briefed opponents, he knows exactly how much the government has spent on everything from veterans to bridges.

Justin Trudeau and Thomas Mulcair couldn’t care less about reality — they have other things on their minds.

Watch: Ezra Levant's reaction to The Globe and Mail's Leader's Debate

Watch: Brian Lilley sets the stage on each leader’s economic policy.

So my first impression: Pregame show. Are you serious?

Twitter #globeDebate being flooded by green party members upset their Leader was left out. Almost impossible to follow.

Does anybody think the opinions of these talking heads interest us? Why not recap on what the party leaders said until now?

Pm will rattle Tommy and beat kid Justin with wit. I predict PM will be a heavy on retaliation.

The major issue of this debate may well be the economy. BUT we must ask what our leaders what they believe it is to be a Canadian. Is Canada a champion for other cultures to use the benefits and peace here? or does Canada stand for human rights, equality and liberty!!!! I don’t want my leader to allow people willy nilly because they want to have a better life!!!!

I wasn’t going to watch this, but when the invitation came from THE REBEL, I couldn’t resist. Blood pressure, you know!!!!

I hope someone asks Justin why he canoes without a lifejacket.

I’m ready!

Questions and points I would LOVE to see addressed tonight:
- I would like Trudeau to have to define ‘infrastructure’. He’s deceiving the public who still think this is mostly big construction projects, instead of offices for government advisory panels, clubhouses for LGBTQHJGF (whatever it is now) clubhouses, rescuing Wynne’s wind energy failure with federal money, and trying to run power grids with solar calculators.
- I’d like Mulcair to have to elaborate on his ‘costing’ platform. The document would have been better if he’d had campaigners print flyers out of his constituency offices.
- I’d like our Prime Minister to rile up the public support of the home town crowd. Notley’s gov’t has borrowed billions, downplayed a surplus the PCs left them, introduced an alarmingly parallel $15 minimum wage (the NDP’s obsession with $15 EVERYTHING is no coincidence), not presenting a budget until after the election (another parallel), and raising taxes on carbon (none of which is going to environmental development…just ideological agendas). Notley’s NDP is a microchosm of what we’d expect from their rookie federal term. Albertans are disgusted. He NEEDS to point that out.

There’s a lot more that needs to be said, but those are things I want DEBATED right off the bat.

as cbcs rosie barton critiqued the first debate a clip was continually looped behind her showing harper talking to several men wearing yarmulkes.. it was subliminal messaging at its finest.. to stir up the anti semites… i questioned ester enkin about this and it was referred to jennifer harwood…..of course the smug reply that i finally received said that the clip was chosen at random, along with several other suggestions of what she would hate to think… ….i am now waiting for “ombudsman” enkin’s review.. and then a couple of days ago they ran an article on about pharmaceuticals .. someone made a comment about israel which contained the addition of “free palestine”… i replied “free palestine ? from what? hamas?”…. this was censored twice.. so i made the reply “free palestine” and that was not a problem for cbc censors.. ..thank you cbc for confirming your anti semite bias..

My least favourite part of these debates, is that each party’s talking points are stated as fact, even though they completely contradict the other parties’ views on the same point….and they just move onto the next question anyway.

Jimmy….It is not part of the CBC’s LAWFUL MANDATE to play Warwick the king maker.

Jimmy, the Calgary Herald is not what I would consider the main stream media. That is reserved for CBC, CTV, Global, Toronto Star, Ottawa Citizen and a few others, but not the Calgary Herald.

“that it is in the top 20 websites”

Load of pure fecal matter, Jimmykins

Jimmy Da Nitwit pulls up stats Ezra stated about a month ago thinking the Ezra meant theRebel would be ahead of Macleans forever and ever. Ezra even stated when he said that, “at this time the Rebel is ahead of Macleans.”

No a good try, JimmiePuff.

Tommy the Commie!! That’s a good one! Very funny, thanks to Shellie Correia for comin up with that clever tag for Mulcair. Wish I’d thought of it! WTG Shellie, I tweeted it, hope it catches.

Oh by the way:

Macleans – 802

The Rebel – 1,152

Looks like Ezra spoke too soon.

Yes – CBC is so obsolete that it is in the top 20 websites out of countless websites that millions upon millions of Canadians go to every single day and numerous times a day. People get their news from the internet now compared to TV.

Globe and Mail for this debate; McLean’s for the last debate. Other media relying on these two for live streaming including C.B.C. and C.T.V.; it must rankle them that they are only considered an equal to a start-up venture like Rebel. Looks like the old T.V. networks, notably C.B.C., are obsolete and unnecessary; but good retirement homes for Mansbridge, Suzuki, etc.

Got to go, I’m taking up valuable space from Jimmy and Richard, sorry.

Thank you Rebel for making this page available, can’t wait to have your internet TV channel online with more live shows!

Thank you mainstream media for giving us access to the debate on The Rebel, even though we shit on you everyday.

With the only viewing choices being cbc, ctv, or cpac, I was not going to tune it at all. Now that it is available on the Rebel, I’ll give it a shot, if for nothing more to see if the globe & mail will be as overly biased as Paul Wells was, although that’s hard to imagine. Give them hell, PM Harper!

We have a decision to make. Who is our country safest with? Steady Stephen, Tommie the Commie, or Justin the Joker.
Should be a very easy choice to make, for anyone who cares about our country, and doesn’t want to end up being a 3rd world appendage of the United Nations “New World Order”…. Fight back, with PM Harper!
