The most egregious example of hypocrisy on the left today has to be the way they treat religion. The left goes to the edge of the world to defend Islam and its more extreme and illiberal practices all while hitting Christians and Jews with thinly veiled attacks on their faith and the State of Israel.
We’re seeing it in Canada right now with M103 where Islamophobia is singled out as a problem despite the hate crime stats not backing up the claim.
Just look at the total lack of outrage on the left recently when a Jesus statue outside a Pentecostal church in Indianapolis was beheaded twice in less than two weeks. And predictably there was silence from media commentators as well even those those who are so quick to point out cases of Islamophobia or Donald Trump’s supposed anti-semitism.
The left today is more concerned about possibly offending any muslim or any part of Islam, yet are so willing to normalize or ignore blatant anti-Christian and anti-semitic bigotry.
Watch as I explain why I think this has less to do with religion and more to do with the concept of white privilege and the patriarchy.
I’m an atheist and fairly libertarian so it’s natural for me to be slightly contemptuous of all religions, especially those who wish to impose their will on me or my country.
But where I differ from my fellow heathens on left is that I recognize that there is one religion that is clearly more dangerous and causes more problems in the world.
There’s one religion that makes very large claims for itself and you dare not challenge those claims or you shall be cast a racist, bigot, and xenophobe.
