Left’s virtue-signalling on “World Hijab Day” normalizes “oppressive” symbol

David MenziesMission Specialist

February 1st was World Hijab Day.

In the West, you’re free to cover your head with whatever you want but the notion of any western government propping up something that in many cases is a symbol of oppression, is unsettling.

Officials at the UK’s Foreign Office invited staff to wear hijabs for the day claiming such headscarves symbolized “liberation, respect and security.”

But as western progressives celebrated the regressive hijab, the real heroes were women in Islamic republics who were ripping hijabs from their heads, hoisting them on sticks and even burning them.

Women on Tehran’s busiest streets have gathered to remove their headscarves, loudly protesting the compulsory hijab rule Iran has had in place since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

The hijab is less a religious requirement and more a political statement which sees many buying into Islamism. World Hijab Day is nothing more than a propaganda tool normalizing the objective of Islamists.

If World Hijab Day and its endorsement by many on the left proves anything, it’s that the progressives are backing the wrong Muslims.

I can almost imagine the outcry if anyone wanted to promote a “Pork-o-Palozza” celebration.

- This is the problem with leftist ideology, it depends on maintaining a very high level of ignorance. “Hijabs symbolized “liberation, respect and security.”” – the slightest bit of research shows that’s a lie. The response is to scream “Islamophobia” & censor, censor, censor.

David, I love you show. I’ve listened to you since your segments with Charles Adler on CJOB in Winnipeg. But one teensy little annoyance that I find in your presentation.

You make no distinction between you pronunciation of women and woman. They are not pronounced the same. Woman is singular and in pronounced" wuh-man". Women is plural and is pronounced “wi-men”.

It is high time to de-islamize the West.

Eldon said, “It will be about ‘free’ or ‘un free’. I choose a free country.”

So do I, but the real question is if Liberal lite Andrew Sheer is able to keep our country free. I am a Conservative, but I have no faith that spineless Andrew is the right person to lead for the job.

Is there time to form a new party to rid us of this PC plague? I think if wee had one and a leader that would come out swinging it could convince a lot of Canadians to abandon the status quo. The CBC et al would be so outraged that they would provide more coverage than you could ever buy.

We need someone in the Toronto area to hist a Hijab Freedom Day. Get Hirsi Ali to speak. Then listen to the lefties whine.

Peter Netterville——-I Agree that Andrew doesn’t have it, but it will become even more obvious if Ford becomes Premier of Ont.. Doug will have so many good ideas, we will think Scheer is a boring Liberal. I do already, Paris Treaty and Carbon Tax.
I watched CTV’s Question Period on Sunday. They had Jason Kenney, Christe Clark, NDP’s Singh, Globe and Mail Chief, plus they talked about Ford as they are also excited about the Ontario turn of events.
It is also in the Left Journalists advantage to have exciting Leaders on both sides. To say the least, it was an exciting show.
The point I’m getting at is they never even mentioned Scheer’s name during the whole hour. Two weeks ago a Senior Political Journalist summed it up by saying " People don’t seem to know who Andrew Scheer is, and those that do don’t seem to care what he thinks."

I missed it this year, but next year, next year …….

The Iranian women need more press. We have to shame our cowardly feminists who support this oppression against women, as well as for suppoerting this blatant political ’middle-finger ’to the west.

It actually puts western women at more risk for rape, beatings and acid attacks, as the hijab is the shield Muslim women wear against being defiled by anyone but their husbands( who can beat ,rape and abuse their own wives all they want, just no one else can). The rest of us are considered sluts and whores and Muslim men don’t have to give us the respect we afford our women and children in the west.
The Edmonton child molester thought a pool full of half naked western children were heaven sent for his sexual enjoyment. Burkini-ed, those kid;s would have been out of bounds for him.
Is that the Canada we want?

No sharia, not one concession, not one.

Andrew Scheer is so right when he stated that the 2019 election is not about left or right. It will be about ‘free’ or ‘un free’. I choose a free country.

Our young women are so naive. They need to be shown a woman being chained up like a dog, and whipped, with a full body bag on, and maybe then it will sink in as to just exactly what they intend to do to subjugate women for the cult of Islam.

‘Tis the Trojan Horse of the muslim faith. Normilization, then acceptance, then on to the next installment of sharia. It’s the newest lib. show in town.

The way I see it if the woman wearing one doesn’t see it as a symbol of oppression
then she see’s it as a symbol of pious hatred.
I feel for the oppressed.

World Hijab Day is just another tactic used by Muslim Brotherhood.
If they used Four Corners of the Earth in their description; people would see right through it.
