Shaun King, a writer for The Intercept and left-wing activist, said on Monday in response to a tweet by Donald Trump that the word “ungrateful" is the new "n**ger.”
Trump accused LaVar Ball of being “ungrateful” after he got his son and two other UCLA basketball players out of a prison in China, where they were being held for alleged shoplifting.
King immediately got slammed by hundreds of Twitter users, who took offense to his comments.
King has come under fire in the past for claiming that he is black -- even though he is reportedly white. He made a name for himself by blogging about race-related issues for the Daily Kos, and later the Intercept.
King is just one of many on the left who continuously try to make every issue about race. Donald Trump and his supporters are constantly branded as racists by King and other leftists for supporting the enforcement of immigration and border laws.
In an open-letter to Trump supporters, published by the NY Daily News, King wrote:
My best guess is that you approve of [Trump] because he's you think he's a good Christian man and you're just relieved we no longer have a scary Muslim in the White House. My best guess is that you're just glad that he's white. My best guess is that you're just glad he's a man. My best guess is that you're just glad he's a Republican. My best guess is that you love that he seems to despise Muslims and immigrants just as much as you do.
Whatever the case, your willingness to still support Trump, in spite of all of the evidence making it clear that any decent person would abandon ship, tells us way more about you than it does him.
King, like many others on the left, is laughably out-of-touch with conservative voters who make up half the country.
No, millions of Americans did not turn out in droves to vote for Trump because they are racist or because he's a man or because they hate Muslims. Most of them voted for Trump because they believed he was a candidate who would finally fight for the forgotten men and women, who have been burdened with high taxes and liberal policies for far too long.
Rather than try to understand Trump's appeal, King and others simply resort to race baiting. And that's when you end up with the word "ungrateful" being branded the new N-word.
