This week, a video is making the rounds on the Internet that shows just how "triggered" left-wingers can get when the concept of white privilege is even questioned.
The video below was released this past week and shows a city council meeting that took place in New Brighton, Minnesota back in October. In the video, Mayor Val Johnson literally breaks down and starts shaking when she's confronted by a white privilege-denier.
The video involves an argument between councilwoman Mary Burg, councilwoman Gina Bauman, and Mayor Johnson.
Panelist Burg would bring up the term "white privilege." She intimated how everyone in the room was incapable in walking in others' shoes.
That's when the conversation took a tense turn. Bauman said she "resented" Burg's talk of privilege, as if the life she had somehow required no effort.
"Because I'm white, you think I was privileged my whole life?" she asked. "Are you kidding?"
Johnson's voiced changed. She said Bauman was "the exact reason" New Brighton needed a task force. If Bauman didn't understand white privilege, the mayor continued, she was handicapped in representing the community in its entirety.
"What you have just said," Johnson said, "is the most racist — "
"Excuse me?" interrupted Bauman. "Don't you ever, ever accuse me of that. You have no basis to say something like that in public."
The mayor offered clarification: "Let me rephrase it. That statement was one of the most racist things I've ever heard.… That statement that you're not feeling the white privilege thing."
They started yelling.
"You're interrupting me! By golly, I'm running this meeting!" said Johnson.
Bauman shot back that she probably knew more people of color than the mayor.
"You're out of order!" Johnson said.
"And you're out of line!" retorted Bauman.
The exchange simmered when Johnson got teary-eyed: "Goddonnit, Gina! I'm passionate about this! I'm so passionate about hearing all sides of the story and for you to disregard the fact that white privilege exists is beyond me."
Oh no, it seems that Mayor Johnson was triggered by someone with views that differ from her own!
Scenes like this have become increasingly typical when devoted left-wingers are confronted with logic and reason. Bauman raised a very good point when she said that she was offended by someone making assumptions about her life based on her race. The hypocritical left has pushed the notion that it is not kosher to judge anyone based on skin color — except for white people.
These days, left-wingers claim that white people have inherently had it easy based solely on their skin color, and Bauman rightfully believes this is not fair.
This video perfectly exemplifies the way conservatives in this country are harassed every single day by the left wing. The left is no longer interested in even hearing an opinion that differs from their own, as they do not want to be "triggered" by it. In a country that was founded on the principle of free speech, this is incredibly tragic.
