Legal gun owners in RCMP’s crosshairs -- with CBC's help

Brian LilleyArchive

“The Mounties always get their man” the old saying goes, and for the gun grabbers in the Mounties, their new man is Justin Trudeau.

During the election, the Liberals promised to give unelected, unaccountable police, not politicians, the power to determine which firearms are allowed for public use in Canada.

That made the Mounties happy because they don’t like civilians owning guns and seem to do all they can to thwart law abiding gun owners.

Their latest move, detailed in a glowing CBC story, is to make a list of guns that should be banned or reclassified.

They want to change the classification of certain semi-automatic firearms which they argue could be modified to become almost like an automatic rifle. Automatic rifles are already effectively banned for civilian use. I’ve fired them during military training. They’re fun but aren’t what hunters and target shooters use.

It’s also illegal to convert a semi-automatic to an automatic in Canada. Do that and you’ll go to jail.

This is a solution in search of a problem.

That may be why the CBC report references cases that happened nearly 25 years apart, the first from nearly 25 years ago.

The Mounties claim (and CBC dutifully reports) that the concern over rifles being altered is due to new technology, a new style of gun and the flood of para-military like weapons coming into Canada but I provide some of the details CBC neglects to report that help show this isn’t about public safety, but is about power and is just a gun grab by the Mounties.

They’re targeting these popular rifles in time for their new political masters to hand power over to them so can get vaguely defined assault weapons off our streets.

Instead of dealing with criminals and gangsters who shoot each other with illegal guns, the Liberals and RCMP will do what’s easy; target law abiding gun owners while the media cheers and avoids asking tough questions.

all they are doing by trying to make guns illegal is just going to end up selling more of them. you would think that these stupid liberals would realize that by now. not only that but any guns people already have will be hidden. there are hundreds of thousands if not millions of SKS rifles including mini-14 and M-305s around. the government doesn’t have the man power that is even willing to do door to door gun confiscation because any idiot knows if the RCMP starts that shit there would be over 60 000 cops country wide die in less than a week. i don’t think our country can sustain a loss like that.

The problem is that we are awash in a sea of sheeple. The crime that will be committed by The Islamic Invasion will be lumped together with the regular crime of the day with no mention of Islam being involved.
Just another day in the city.

Does appear to be a bit odd – at a time, when the Gov’t is lauding themselves with bringing in plane loads of people that would have no problem killing us—- And NOW—-they want to take away our guns. We are Not all into euthanasia .

Hmm any semi auto could be potentially modified to fire automatically . Heck a guy with a single shot could potentially go on a mass murdering rampage .The same applies to swords, knives , hammers, axes; baseball bats. Funny how high nitrogen fertilizer and diesel fuel make gel explosives will they ban that? As for assault rifles they are such a small percentage of the gun deaths that they are not the problem . hand guns shot guns maybe … But ultimately taking guns away from legal owner solves nothing . It would seem to me that the RCMP are afraid of Canadian citizens for some reason and why? They should be concentrating on Going after criminals , murderers, and illegal gun owners, and illegal gun importers and those who sell them . I would think if the govt and the RCMP continue with this stupidity that Canadian legal gun owners will have to do a class action law suit to recoup their losses and legal fees and hardship should they start a mass gun grab on legal gun owners whom are mentally stable; and have no violent criminal record. With all the murdered and missing people in this country one would think they would have more important things to do with their time .

It is all a farce, guns are not a problem. I don’t own one. In days gone by 30 notches on a gun made people be aware not be killed. Everyone carried a gun. Everybody could use a gun. Less killing. To day at least 30 people a month are killed on city streets. Why ? Onlu crimals have guns. The wild west knew more than anyone today. The gov don’t want gun control ..they want to control you guns. The US saw that and that’s why the 2nd amendment was put in place

If you think restricting and regulating immigration based on what a tiny outlaw minority od foreigners “might” do is bigoted – but banning lawfully owned firearms based on what a tiny outlaw minority “might” do is evidenced based policy making; you might be a Liberal bigot .

So frustrating that our esteemed leaders and elite law enforcement cannot grasp the simplest concept. Basic logic criminals (hence their title ) commit crimes ergo they will never adhere to nor be affected in any way by any type of gun legislation.

It’s not a crime to be stupid but it sure is fucking annoying !

Trudeau, the RCMP, law enforcers, Politicians, MIC (Military Industrial Complex), Obama, etc. etc. they are all puppets and take their marching orders from the Globalist Corporatists and the U.N. commie /socialists. Their agenda to destroy the middle class and implement an Oligarchic Global feudal system of slavery. They not only want your guns (protection against them), they want your property, they want you packed and stacked into highrise ghettos, your travel severely restricted (driver-less cars), they want you surveilled at all times, and your spirituality (family units and faith) destroyed. We are being attacked mentally, physically and spiritually. Go ahead and chuckle, chuckle, laugh it up, make snide remarks, but I dare you to turn off your TV’s, your Smartphones and social media for several months. Do some research, read some books (Bible included), study some history get your heads out of the propaganda FOG foisted on to you by the media. Don’t look for tanks, armies, bombs, and guns on your street, we are going to be defeated from within by traitors, and TREASON. We are at war right now. No wonder they want you disarmed.
“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.” Marcus Tullius Cicero.

Wayne: “I wouldn’t hunt big game with a semi-automatic rifle, because if I can’t hit him with the first shot, he deserves to get away, but that’s just my opinion.” I’ll bet you don’t have a lot of friends that hunt. Just sayin’… And – what about the concept of the varmint gun? It’s not always for food, or even trophies. Sometimes it’s to protect your herd. Sometimes it’s even to protect yourself. I guess, if you’re face to face with a cougar, and you miss your first shot, you should just lay down and enjoy the meal, because the cat deserves you? Of course that’s the extreme but going after a pack of coyotes that are stalking your calves isn’t. The presupposition most anti-gun nuts has is the one that guns are made for the express purpose of killing people, only. If you think like that, you’re wrong and you need to take another look at your belief system. And take a fall vacation to the prairies for some guided whitetail hunting, it’ll open your eyes!

What can our elected officials be planning for us that is so obscene that they feel the need to confiscate our
Firearms in advance under any and all pretenses…
Hmmmmm..

What does it mean “to become almost like an automatic rifle”. Isn’t this an either/or proposition? Also, you make it sound as if people are born criminal, as if this is somehow a constant. . All gun owners are law abiding, that is, until they are not.
commented 2016-01-16 15:40:49 -0500
Gun owning law abiding citizens present absolutely no threat to other law abiding citizens… gun free zones are targets for criminals and other sub humans who wish to do harm on innocent people Because they know there is nobody there to stop them and the authorities usually only arrive after the fact to take bodies away and to take statements from survivors.
I don’t think there was ever a time in history where murderers and thieves bothered to take the time to obtain a gun permit before going on their murderous rampages.. unarmed citizens are targets and resources for the criminal element who would do them wrong. The statistics are out there for every country who practices gun control… Either the crime rate goes straight up and through the roof because only the criminals have guns or the country evolves into a armed dictatorship who through violence and aggression subvert the people… the lessons of gun control should be represented by cold hard facts that speak for themselves in a positive light and not based on knee-jerk reactions or crying emotions that have no place in objective and critical thinking.
If gun control worked then police would not ever need to be armed.. Taking guns away from law-abiding citizens does not make us safer and does not take guns away from criminals or do anything to help us it only leaves us defenseless to protect ourselves from a threatening element.
Switzerland has an automatic military style tactical rifle Tucked away with ammunition in almost each and every household… Nobody bothers to mention that it has one of the lowest violent crime rates in the world.. And they as law abiding gun owners don’t run around shooting each other up.
Whoever reads this post please make a comment one way or the other if you agree or disagree with the statements I’ve made…
Below is a link that goes into great detail about the Swiss and their gun culture.

Lad, I believe you have the right to use equal and opposite force as is visited upon you. As for the RCMP, I am still waiting (probably will never hear) who gave the order to seize the guns in High River. I believe it was an experiment, a trial run, to see what the fallout would be, so they know how far they can go in the future.
commented 2016-01-16 14:26:33 -0500
Every man should have the right to protect his Home and Family, with whatever force necessary. In this age of Ialamic enlightenment, this means having a firearm available. If you do not kill them, they, sure as hell will kill you.

Alas, to the best of my knowledge, it is illegal to defend yourself with a firearm, in Canada. Throwing popsicle sticks at the Muslim who is raping your daughter, that’s OK.
commented 2016-01-16 14:09:46 -0500
I would encourage every firearm owner in Canada who possesses one of these rifles to look into filing or participating in a class action legal suit against the federal government and the rcmp if this goes any further. At the very least we can make this a prohibitively expensive and time consuming process for them. If they do actually come knocking on our doors to confiscate them, make sure you hand them an inoperable gun so as to ensure they can’t be used by others in the future to perpetrate the atrocities the cops are so afraid we average, law abiding Canadians may commit today.
We need to coordinate and fight this in the courts as a unified community before it gets totally out of hand. Strength in numbers.

The RCMP (those coming enforcers of Sharia) are under orders from the PMO (Gerald Butts) to prepare for the inevitable uprising that will occur when even some of the stupid realize what Trudope is all about. A disarmed public allows for an easy implementation of a police state, or “admired” communist dictatorship!

The invasion of so many gimmirants with violent background (whose agenda is clearly stated as ‘hijra’, i.e. takeover of kuffir lands by immigration & once in strong numbers with the help of ‘Najashi’ force sharia on the local population) it’s not hard to see the reason why Mr. Pothead is so keen on further restricting gun rights.
The total disarmament of Canadians will be achieved in gradual steps, isolate gun owners, prohibit or restrict one kind of firearm at a time. It has been achieved successfully in Europe, Britain & Australia and I see no reason why it won’t be tried on us in Canada.
We’ve seen the consequence of disarmament in Europe & Britain they’ve reached a point of no return. I urge fellow Canadians to don’t let this happen in our country start resisting LAWFULLY before we are beyond redemption.
