LGBTQ t-shirt controversy teaches important lesson: Never apologize

David MenziesMission Specialist

Until recently Jamie Smith, owner of Belle's Smokin' BBQ, was selling T-shirts proclaiming the following: “I support LGBTQ.”

But alas, the T-shirt’s subsequent copy is causing a controversy for the Kentucky food truck, because it turns that LGBTQ really stands for Liberty, Guns, Bible, Trump, and BBQ.

“Never apologize. It’s a sign of weakness”- Capt. Nathan Brittles

Why should I be politically correct when I can just be right? I DON’T have to respect anything that I disagree with and I do NOT support anybody’s rights if they are trying to force me to embrace them. History proves that attitude only leads to tyranny. Do you want proof of this? I have one name for you to prove this point…. Hitler.

Jacques Landry, I think you’ve said what millions of voters have been saying all along. I agree 100 percent. The LGBTQ crowd or whatever you call yourselves can do whatever you want in your bedroom, sex dungeon or barnyard but you don’t have the right to force us to celebrate your shit with you. Go do what you do in privacy and keep us out of it. Government has NO business in the bedroom or in the church yet they get dragged into them and enjoy being there. This is exactly why Trump got elected and why many more like him will get elected, people are sick of being told what to do and how to think by the mainstream media and their puppet politicians. Change is coming and it will just continue right through to civil war not just in the USA but everywhere.

To all you SNOWFLAKE, and your supporters, you may feel you have the right to be offensive, and yes I’m referring to the LGBTQ crowd. I agree that you have the right to be who you are, but you don’t and shouldn’t have the right to rub your queerness in our faces every chance you get. Our politicians need to show some balls and stop acting like that twit that is ruining this great country. You were voted into office to represent the majority and this majority is NOT the LGBTQRSTWXYZ minority. I’m a voter and I also have a right to my opinion. If you are offended, that just too bad (go home and cry to your mommy). Too many sheeple are afraid to voice their true opinions out of fear of offending someone. By the way Andrew, diversity like multiculturalism just doesn’t work in the long run. Thank you Rosie for your opinion. I have not posted a comment for some time now, but this story was just too stupid for me to resist. I am a big supporter of the rebel and hope they keep doing the great service they they are providing.

Me too Liza… I have always hated the co-opting of the word “gay” starting in the late 50s, early 60s as I recall… It used to be a fine word in English literature, story and song, for hundreds of years, before the “bum-bandits” made it their own…

“Acknowledging everyone’s orientation, or only those that you find acceptable”

How about nobody’s Andrew. I don’t care or want to acknowledge anyone’s orientation. Get over yourselves. What you or anyone else do for kicks or with whom, or how you like to dress or identify is none of my concern. Grown ups don’t broadcast their sexuality, make a career out of it or push it onto children. By the way, I am taking the word ‘gay’ back too. It used to mean happy and care free, I like that original meaning better.

When this shirts message is forced on anyone it can be called identity politics , until then it is merely a shirt.
commented 2019-04-29 02:16:24 -0400
Andrew Stephenson tell me why the identity politics on this shirt are not being forced on anyone by legislation while the others who use the grouping of letters want it FORCED on others by law? Sounds like one side is tolerant while another is not.

Andrew Stephenson except the shirt refers to REAL things.

I gotta get me one o’ those t-shirts…to wear with my MAGA hat…fer town day! LOL!
“Liberty, Guns, Bible, Trump, and BBQ.” I love it. We’ll just push conservatism in the left’s face until their heads explode…and then we can reprogram them to be normal and good…

That was a pretty hilarious show today Menzoid, I was mostly rollin’ in the aisle…we’re talkin’ laughin’ out loud and some guffaws!

…nobody cares as long as its not pushed onto kids in schools, libraries or by stupid governments who will find their asses on the sidewalk by voters who are sick of it. Identity politics is poison. Just say no to pandering! "

What’s better termed as “identity” politiics? Acknowledging everyone’s orientation, or only those that you find acceptable, lest someone get triggered by diversity? Do you think it’s “Liberty” to be swept under the rug because some right wing snowflake find your existence uncomfortable?

This shirt is pretty serious identity-politic virtue signaling itself. You are broadcasting an identity, and politics, at the same time.

All knowing andrew…you just cant resist can you? Just like the dog and a ball, easily distracted from what is actually going on. As long as these people you’re referring to don’t ask for special treatment. all is good. No one is being persecuted for their sexual preferences…..except those countries where the other “i’m special” group left to come here and turn it into the shit hole that they left.

Andrew Stephenson the term MARRIAGE was appropriated by them.

Liberty, Guns, Bible, Trump,(or truth as an alternative) and BBQ.
LGBTQ has fresh new meaning.

Andrew it always has. Discrimination laws on the books for decades. The Queer community needs to knock that chip of their shoulder and smile. Nobody cares that they are gay. Just another example of why identity politics is so destructive. They are not special. I know they want to be, but they are not.
commented 2019-04-28 17:15:59 -0400
Damn, I’m going to have to get me one of those T shirts.
commented 2019-04-28 16:58:04 -0400
Good for them. I hope their love of “liberty” includes those who the term was appropriated from as well.

The Marxist Canadian education system must be proud of what they have created in the younger generations…Intentional redundancy, the path to duuuh.

Love the shirt and who cares what the sniffling snowflakes think and like David said never apologize!!!!

Liberty, Guns, Bible, Trump, BBQ. Makes more sense than anything else that comes to mind.
