Pregnancy crisis centres are getting threatening letters from the government alleging they may be running afoul of the Liberals’ revamped values attestation for summer jobs grant funding.
In 2017, Trudeau's Liberals added an attestation to the application for federal summer student funding that essentially required any organization that wanted a grant to "bend the knee" to Liberal Party social values.
What this meant in practice was faith-based groups, like the Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent de Paul Society, or the Mustard Seed, wouldn’t be eligible for federal funding to hire summer students as camp counsellors for underprivileged inner-city kids, or to make sandwiches for the homeless, or to help a battered woman move into her new apartment unless they signed away their faith in favour of an attestation to these values.
The Liberals were offering a bag of silver to give up Jesus, and I think we all know how that goes.
Faith groups challenged the attestation and in the face of public outcry, the Liberals re-wrote the attestation in December 2018, but still, as reported in the BC Catholic, Barry Bussey, director of legal affairs for the Canadian Council for Christian Charities (CCCC) says, “the Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada (ARCC) issued a call in February for the government to take away the registered charitable status of crisis pregnancy centres.”
These ghouls. This is a targeted campaign organized by pro-choice activists to starve crisis centres of much-needed resources and the Liberals are happy to comply because their ideologies mesh.
The Left, in general, is so fanatical about abortion that they want to make it the preferred choice of pregnant vulnerable women and girls by threatening the funding of charities who seek to help those in a crisis pregnancy. They want to starve these charities so they can help fewer women and babies.
The Trudeau Liberals are keeping women and babies poor and in precarious situations — for women’s rights.
