The Liberals have known for at least three years that their carbon tax plan could strip more than $24 billion off the Canadian GDP every single year, and I have the internal documents to prove it.
We all know that making life more expensive is not helpful to any economy. And now, thanks to an Access to Information request, we can confirm that the Liberals had information back in 2016 that their carbon tax plan would be a disaster.
At the time, the Liberal government was warned that the carbon tax would strip between 7 to 24 billion in Canadian GDP out of the economy in 2030.
This information was presented to several politicians, including the previous Albertan Environment Minister Shannon Phillips, the federal Environment Minister Catherine McKenna and to the Ministry of Finance.
Let's be clear: this is a pro-carbon tax document written by a pro-carbon tax panel of experts that is being used to justify the Liberals' so-called “price on pollution.”
While the American economy booms the Canadian government was knowingly scheming to strip up to $24 billion in GDP out of its own economy every single year, knee-capping Canada to impress the United Nations.
And no doubt, most of that GDP loss would be from fossil fuel county.
