Liberals’ latest undemocratic electoral reform: Online applications for Senate seats

Brian LilleyArchive

Here's Justin Trudeau's strangest idea so far in his plans for "democratic" electoral reforms: Now you can apply online for one of those cushy jobs in the Senate!

Just write a 1000 word essay, add some references and you're all set.

WATCH to see how this would supposedly work, and hear my ideas for what should happen to the Senate itself.

Keith Richards when it does happen ,although Justin will have been in power it will somehow be Harpers fault, just like even if Hillary were to serve 2 full terms everything would still be Bush’s fault.

When the global financial collapse hits, non of this crap will matter.

Defaulting on bonds and mass chaos of those who don’t get paid – including pensioners.

Maybe they will select someones dog or some white guy with a swastika tattoo claiming to be a minority, it would serve them right.

Hitler came to power through the democratic process. Once in power, he claimed that the people had spoken when they elected him and his party, so there was no further need for the democratic system of government… the people already made their choice. What’s the difference with they way Trudeau is running government? There is no difference. He’s now in the process of jury-rigging the electoral process to ensure he and his party stay in power in perpetuity. There is no difference between Justin and Hitler, except in their methods. If they don’t change course, and they might if the public outcry is loud enough, this can only end in violence. I believe Justin Trudeau is evil.

Yea that will make the senate better. Let’s make the senate about gender and racial equality. Not about electing the person best suted to the job. And why not make another career politician who would still have to be approved by the prime minister. Don’t forget the new senate member needs to make a salary of 200-280k a year and only show up to work 3 months out of the year.
I got a better idea why not elect ordinary people from communitys across Canada. Base their salary on what the average Canadian makes. They can still show up to work three months of the year, and when these carrier politician ass wipes in the House of Commons think their going to pull one over on the tax payer the senate steps in and protects us the people. Like it should.
When the senate isn’t in session our every day senate members come back to their communitys and spend thier time engage with what is going on at home. Knowing their communitys inside and out working on the ground so that they know how best to do their job when senate is in session.
I find the fact that today’s politicians don’t have any faith that ordinary people are smart enough to make decisions for them selfs is very disturbing. But if this story proves anything it’s that today’s politicians don’t want the best person for the job, they just want girls and ethnic minority’s to be part of the old boys club.
