Liberals invent “crisis” to justify deficits: Don’t let smooth talker Morneau fool you

Brian LilleyArchive

Being the finance minister isn’t easy. There are all those numbers and things and you have to know how to add and subtract but in the case of the Liberals, the most important skill you must possess is being a smooth talker.

The Liberals have been talking down the Canadian economy and the government’s fiscal situation for a long time because they need the public to think that the country is already in deficit and that it has been for a long time, that it was the Harper Conservatives that did that to Canada. Why?

So they can justify saying they’re going to “rescue” us with more spending.

I’ll show you the evidence to prove they aren’t being truthful and when I do, just think about how absurd Morneau sounds as he tells us how important it is to him and the government to be open and transparent about Canada’s fiscal situation.

Too bad he’s a liar.

Justin Trudeau and the Liberals are spending us into deficit. They will not admit they inherited a surplus because that destroys part of the underlying argument for their huge deficits down the road. They need you to believe the cupboards were bare.

Trudeau promised three small deficits of $10B, now he and Morneau are projecting deficits of $18.4B but that is before the Liberals add in new spending.

I’ve predicted the budget deficit will be between $25 and $30 billion, others estimate it could go as high as $35B.

The Liberals are going beyond just making sure they don’t let a crisis go to waste, they’re actually inventing a crisis so they can implement their solutions – spending they wanted to do but needed to find a justification for.

Trudeau’s plan all along was to spend like a Liberal, to create new social programs and to use deficits as a ruse to do that.

Look at the puzzled look on this Liberal liars face. He isn’t fit to shine Jim Flaherty’s shoes, let a lone shake his hand. I’m so glad that I never sold my soul to an empty headed fool with a trust fund. He and his party of evil will see that Canada, as we knew it, is destroyed.

The guy is a liar and so are his subordinates.
Turdeau gives new meaning to ’speaks with forked tongue".
Morneau is just a tool in more ways than one.

I seem to remember a certain Ontario Liberal Premier saying that Ontario’s economy was doing poorly due to the strong Canadian Dollar. Oh yea, and it was Alberta’s fault. Now we have a low dollar, low oil cost which lowers transportation costs and low interest rates. Ontario’s manufacturing sector must be booming now.

If not, then it is probably Alberta’s fault that they spent/wasted so much making their electric cost amount the highest anywhere.

Dear Diary;
Wow! That was weird yesterday with Gerald, and yet, curiously, not too unpleasant.
But I was bang on (no Gerald) about that BDS thing. When one is as politically astute as I am, one develops a fourth sense for these things. I’m in a pickle (no Gerald it’s just an expression) over the whole BDS for Jews business. I was quietly in support of being against it, but now the Tories want me to say out loud that I’m not for it. Now, I’m supposed to do the opposite of what Stevie would have done, but he’s already said he’s against it, so maybe I’m supposed to be for it.
Awe geez, now Dion’s wading in (I wish he had stuck to singing). I think he’s saying (if I understand him) that it’s good people who are for it, but we should work at changing their minds so that they’ll be against it, but that they’ll still be good people even when they’re no longer for it. With me so far?
So, for clarification, I looked to my chums at the CBC to see what they say I should think about it, and their headline says, “Liberals denounce and agree with Tory motion condemning Israel boycotters”.
What the hell is that supposed to mean? Who writes this crap at the CBC? Do I denounce the motion? Or am I supposed to agree with the motion? For an extra $150 million on top of the $1 billion would it be too much to ask for someone who can put one simple friggin’ sentence together for me? Oy vey ist mir.

As an Albertan, I love how the Liberals have suddenly discovered that the price of oil and gas, or even the reality of oil and gas, affects government revenues. Who’d’a thought? But, by gum, we’ll save the parasitic Quebec corporation, Bombardier…after all, they are great Liberals from Quebec.

Lieberal lie.

Canada voted them into office, especially Eastern Canada.

The majority of Easterner Canadians love liars, I guess.

However, if a Conservative lies lefties go ballistic. Makes one wonder why they hold Conservatives to such a considerably higher standard that they do for themselves.

You are dumb Ron. Like all liberals you conveniently leave out the global economic crisis which Harp did well to mitigate the damages. I’m not sure how you even deal with life without a brain. Ironic that they say they are so ‘open minded’.
commented 2016-02-23 19:23:53 -0500
Is “contards” a French word?
commented 2016-02-23 19:15:51 -0500
The liberals will handle the economy just fine….just like they always have. History shows contards cannot handle the economy very well, oh they say they can, but they are not very good at it. We saw this with the record of the last “economic genius” (sarcasm) you had as PM.

Morneau is a pension fund manager and so he has to learn three things at the same time, how to be an MP, a Finance Minister and a Liberal liar. So far, he has failed at all three. During question period he comes out with the same campaign crapola that is very repetitive, doing the old duck, dodge and dance routine and squirming not to tell the truth. Too bad he can’t at least try and tell the truth but that would rub junior the wrong way.
