Lindsay Shepherd: “Free speech should be everyone’s issue”

David MenziesMission Specialist

Lindsay Shepherd, a teaching assistant at Wilfred Laurier University, was the star attraction at a free speech rally recently.

Watch as I speak with Lindsay and get her take on what happened to her at Laurier – and discuss why freedom of speech is under attack at Canadian academic institutions.

They can push, but it is going to be a hard sell to common sense Canadians who make up the true majority….. which is why they target young impressionable minds, who will then grow into the majority of Canadians. We need to protect our children from these infected institutions not fund them.

Dr. David Faux, I have relatives who left Caledonia after years of what you are talking about. Caledonia is Canada’s first real no go zone.
“I found the deed of surrender for the land that was being occupied at the Library and Archives Canada, dated 1844, and signed by 47 Chiefs in Council – but no one was interested in hearing the facts, evidence or the truth – only the party line.”
In this post truth Canada everything is being rewritten to suit a narrative which actually could not be more EXclusive. Truth be damned.

Lindsay has a lot of support, I would say the majority of Canadians stand with her. The agenda driven academics are soldiers for the cultural Marxist, post modernist , global cause. They can push, but it is going to be a hard sell to common sense Canadians who make up the true majority. The leftist gaggle of PC zombies is a loud and obnoxious group, well funded, but not large. Don’t be cowed or silenced or they will take it as our subscription to their agenda.

Another example of prof’s interrogating a student for wrong thought and wrong (hate) speech.

Great to see our young academics challenging the marxist effetes currently things. Go girl!

Lorrie Goldstein summed it up nicely at the end of his Nov 22/17 column, " … Wilfrid Laurier, a textbook example of Buckley’s equally well-known observation that, “liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views.”

Listening to those twisted self righteous snowflakes who made it seem that the “problem” resided with Lindsay made me almost puke. I spent 11 years in 5 universities, earned a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences at McMaster, and it seems to me that the Political Sciences, Philosophy, Sociology and so on “Departments” are hotbeds of Antifa, Communist, Marxist, globalist ideology. I live in Caledonia, Ontario where “aboriginals” are “victims” and “survivors” and meanwhile we (their neighbours and kin without status cards) have spent 11 years under siege with often no policing (the OPP is / was too afraid to the “Natives” to even rescue one of their own who was in serious trouble – but in the “no go” zone). We were on our own. The Provincial Government abandoned us, and Wynne tried to make like she did not know there was a problem. Those who aggravated the problems were graduate students from York and Wilfred Laurier. I personally called their thesis supervisors to let them know I would sue them and the Universities if anything untoward happened as a result of the actions of these Marxist White people who were supporting “Natives” because of course “Natives” are always victims. I found the deed of surrender for the land that was being occupied at the Library and Archives Canada, dated 1844, and signed by 47 Chiefs in Council – but no one was interested in hearing the facts, evidence or the truth – only the party line. Keep up your spirits Lindsay, people such as myself will support you to the hilt. I admire your bravery and resourcefulness. You have the law on your side and your stance reflects true Canadian values. Your adversaries are mealy mouthed hypocrites who could not function in the “real world” outside the ivory tower.

We are both Graduates of WLU….and have recently reviewed the articles on Ms. Shepherd.. We are disgusted in how the WLU Professors handled this situation. In addition, we are shocked how the WLU University hierarchy, attempted to tarnish this young women’s reputation even after the media got involved. A University education is where you find yourself! It is not a time to be “programmed” by some overpaid Left Wing Professors and TA’s.

Our suggestion as Alumni members of WLU….fire the staff that was involved and clean up the swamp!

Lindsay Shepherd is head and shoulders above the hypocrites Rambukkana & Pimlot who harassed and bullied her, and she always will be. It is to the universities great dis-credit that they have not fired these extremely narrow minded bigots! They should not be allowed to teach anybody anything from here on in. To educate you must first be educated, they are not, despite what they may think.

I truly wonder how Lindsay Shepherd saw such issues before? I wonder if she had her eyes forced wide open?

Stephen E that is a good way to debate these twits , tell them they are speaking freely, see if their confused little brains can process that.

Lindsay Shepherd, you are an inspiration to all free thinking people!

The answer to all those complaining against free speech and loudly demonstrating, shut up. You are using the very same free speech which you hate. Ergo, shut up and stop being hypocrites.

Paul Taylor, share your first hand knowledge often and with many. Canadian Universities are very risky places to send young malleable minds, and the post modernist, cultural Marxists who push their political agenda in our educational institutions know this very well. In fact they count on it. Does that make these academics predators?

Universities in western culture are nothing more than ideological centres filled with godless, leftist professors that unabashedly promote atheism and anti-theism (especially anything anti-Christian), and the brainwashing indoctrination of youth; teaching them what to think instead of how to think, which leads to post-modern leftism. Fully supported by the Liberals, NDP and leftist media of which Trudeau junior is a shining example.
The further the people of this country, and indeed people of all western countries move from away from the Christian principles they were founded on (since Christianity is responsible as the reason why universities exist in the first place), the worse it is going to get. Anyone who does not believe that, read Deuteronomy 28 and Leviticus 26.
Our land needs a deep cleansing. If the people who truly care won’t stand up and act and say enough is enough, then God will.

Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the non believers, I will be exalted on the earth.

This is indeed a brave young lady. My hats off to her.

I had two daughters attend Laurier. The oldest graduated 8 years ago and to my knowledge was normal when she graduated. The youngest one graduated 3 years ago. It took me two years to deprogram her from all the Socialist Bullshit the Laurier profs crammed down her throat.

If anyone has kids at any learning institution I advise you to brace yourselves because this crap they feed them is dangerous. Get them some help after the graduate.

I’m so glad that she had the fortitude to record the interrogation, and to release it to the media. If she hadn’t, she would have been run off the university property by now, and likely charged with a hate crime, and her reputation tarnished for life. The real Nazi’s are as angry as wasps now that they’ve been exposed! We need more teacher’s like her! I’m glad to see so many defending her right to freedom of speech, and for the right of students to hear both sides of an issue, in order to make up their own minds through critical thinking! I hope she watches her back though, because those she is exposing will use violence to control her. They are just waiting until the issue dies down. She is now a target, just like Professor Jordan, and anyone else who speaks the truth.

In countries or cultures where there is no free speech , intolerance flourishes and tolerance diminishes

From the latest pushback letter written by a Laurier academic: “It is all too easy for you, Lindsay, Dr. Rambukkana or Dr. Peterson to sit in your relatively safe and comfortable positions as cisgender women and men and decide whose lives and politics matter more: trans people or free speech.”

The answer is clear, to me. Free speech matters more. Millions have willingly died to protect it over the past century or two.

Good on you Lindsay for exposing those “freedom of speech nazi’s”
