London, Ontario: Ex-school board employee accused of $2M fraud

Rebel Staff

David Ferguson, 55, of London is charged with fraud over $5,000, uttering forged documents, breach of trust and possessing proceeds of crime.

The Toronto Sun reports that according to police, Ferguson, "a voice telecommunications specialist, invoiced the [Thames Valley District School Board] for $2,064,000 worth of equipment, mostly wireless headsets, which he resold."

Ferguson is accused of defrauding the board over a seven-year period.

In September, the Thames Valley Board reportedly fired Ferguson, who turned himself in to police this week.

Could someone tell me why a school board NEEDS a “voice communications specialist” in the first place? And why would he personally buy millions of dollars worth of headsets? Don’t they have a purchasing department to do that?

MOAR gubbamint screw up. Ferguson will get charged, go to trial, get two years, less a day (provincial pen sentence) and then walk after 6 months. None of the 7M will be recovered (or maybe 100K or so) and the Ferguson retires.

Welcome to big gewbermint – and you the taxpayers cover the costs. How’s that feel? Go job Wynne you foul disgusting communist PIG!!!!!!!!!

Maybe he thought the wireless equipment would have no strings attached.
