“Lonely spinsters” could learn from Mike Pence’s marriage

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Host | The Gunn Show

Vice President Mike Pence hates women, is a sex offender waiting for a place to happen and is at least as bad as the Taliban. At least that’s what the Liberal internet outrage warriors would have you believe.

A Washington Post article mentioned that Pence won't dine alone with women besides his wife, and will not attend any event where alcohol is served unless Karen, his wife of 32 years, is there with him.

What kind of monster refuses to go on dates with women who aren’t his wife?

Wait. What? This is crazy.

Watch to see the message I have for the handwringing critics of Mike Pence.

Liberals are having a tough time understanding how Pence considers his wife’s feelings in all that he does. Loving, normal, long term relationships built on mutual respect are completely foreign to them.

Look at their side:

They think the Clintons' marriage, rife with sexual assault allegations and harassment, is some sort of fairy tale. That the Weiners' relationship and its underage sexting scandal and bulging crotch shots is a testament to the power of love to overcome any obstacle. They call the Kennedys' relationships, complete with drunken trysts with a drug addled starlet, “Camelot.”

No wonder liberals think Mike Pence is some sort of weirdo.

@ Jack Carter
“I am happily married and have had the morals to be faithful to my wife without needing such rules to keep me in check. "

Anytime you say to yourself, "I wouldn’t do that because … " then it is a “rule” even if you do not call it that. A rule does not have to be written or enshrined in some contract (such as a marriage contract) in order to be a rule.

Jack asked, “Why exactly can’t Pence have more than one drink without his wife – what is the logic in that?”

The optics of it.

You know, Jack, that he would be torn apart in the media if he had a private dinner or drink with another woman, even if it was a completely innocent meeting.

My question to you is why would you attack him for taking the cautious route by not getting into the situation in the first place.

Pence is damned to being attacked by people like you whether he does or he does not, so he chooses to take the safer path.

When I talk about morals, is it really moral to attack Pence for not having a private dinner and/or drink with a woman not his wife?

I have a great deal of respect for Mr. Pence. He is showing honour, respect, and love for himself, his wife and family and christian values. There are many people who will do anything to criticize, ridicule and undermine others for their high moral standards and christian beliefs. Where I part company with Sheila Gunn Reid and other prideful self righteous detractors is the unnecessary and insulting demeaning of others who do not fit into their little boxes, i.e. spinsters, (which may include, bachelors, widows, etc) with or without cats. Maybe, just maybe, many of those “lonely spinsters” are providing more christian support to the community than the aforementioned prideful (single or married) ones. Just proving that while the right is so self congratulatory on their high road, they sometimes fail to notice their own failures, assumptions and biases. But, it is always easy and funny to insult spinsters and cats, isn’t it?

Married over 30 years I have watched the attack against the traditional family and marriage.
You guys nailed it. Anything normal is not allowed and is to be taken apart by the left”

These are two separate phenomena. The attacks against Pense are unacceptable- if he’s happy, good on him. 30 years is a long time to do anything. That being said, his comments are a bit strange and I don’t think, typical of individuals that are truly secure with themselves and their partners – and those comments are indeed vaguely oppressive.

Some people do stay married for the sake of being married, or of fear of societal or religious judgement. It’s not an “attack” on traditional family and marriage to accept that divorce happens., or that people may marry non-traditionally or not at all. This isn’t an “attack”. It’s personal freedom. Go ahead and get married, but don’t get upset when I don’t.

As a final thought, for all the complaining about leftists and traditional family structure, since Leftists tend to settle down later and not fall prey to societal pressure to marry early … they end up entering relationships as mature and independent adults, and tend to wait for ideal partners or not “settle” for non-ideal ones… as a consequence the divorce rate is actually a lot lower than “traditional” marriages where they got married at 22 and had kids at 25, and tend to do a far better job of providing for children (both as a consequence of being better established, and of the fact that people that don’t want kids, don’t feel pressured to have them).

And in Canada, a good chunk of the population (and virtually all of the press) would, given the chance, bestow sainthood on a former PM who married a girls barely out of her teens and thirty tears his junior.

Harley McCartney,

What attack? Such rules are not traditional at all. Are you aware of the 40’s and 50, where married men did what they wanted outside of cheating and their wives shut the fuck up about it? There was no have one drink only unless the wife is there bullshit. Men were men.

Peter Netterville,

I am not saying that Pence should care. I am only stating that they may be some validity to the claims made. Why exactly can’t Pence have more than one drink without his wife – what is the logic in that? What would happen if he had two or three?

A happy marriage with 100% trust and no insecurities or feelings of jealously doesn’t need such rules. There is obviously more at play here.

You keep bringing up morals – I am happily married and have had the morals to be faithful to my wife without needing such rules to keep me in check. While they are older and have been married longer, my marriage is obviously stronger than their marriage if he can’t get into an elevator with another woman.

Jack Carter said to Drew, “If you watched the video above, you would see that some of the attacks suggest that he NEEDS such rules, …”

So you are referencing what people accuse Pence of what they think he needs as authoritative truth?

As Drew said, “Jack Carter , who gives a shit what the haters think?”

Jack Carter, what Sally Citizen said also fits you perfectly, "The Left is absolutely seething with hate & at war against the Right that they cannot see the truth anymore.

You support and defend the attacks on Pence because he is a Christian who holds to a high moral standard. That really IS the crux of it.
commented 2017-03-31 09:44:23 -0400
The Left is absolutely seething with hate & at war against the Right that they cannot see the truth anymore. The fact that they would stoop so low to smear a man who is clearly a decent and loving husband is just beyond absurd.
commented 2017-03-31 03:25:34 -0400
Jack Carter you claim to love your wife so much , then tell me what you would do if a sharia patrol was calling her a whore for dressing as she pleases? Rember if you do anything, the people you support would have you jailed for racism or some other crap.
commented 2017-03-31 03:04:35 -0400
Jack Carter i see you avoided my question to deflect from the substance of it.
commented 2017-03-31 03:03:23 -0400
Jack Carter , who gives a shit what the haters think? And tell me how they would know this? They are making ignorant assumptions while they hold their words when it comes to scum who treat their wives like garbage. I suggest these people are projecting their own tendencies onto him.
commented 2017-03-31 01:59:05 -0400
Drew Wakariuk,

If you watched the video above, you would see that some of the attacks suggest that he NEEDS such rules, because he would cheat in a second if the opportunity presented itself where is was with another woman alone or he would cheat in a second if he has too much to drink.

Basically she has to have him on a very short leash.
commented 2017-03-31 01:37:23 -0400
To the people missing the point of this article-Pence is being demonized for being a respectful husband by so called feminists and others who claim to have deep respect for women. What part of that is hard to understand?
commented 2017-03-31 01:35:51 -0400
Jack Carter why is it fine to attack Pence for his choices while the same people hold up a wreck of a marriage like the Clintons in high regard? And going to strippers is not the same as what Bill does , nor is it the same as the cheating Kennedy did. And i highly doubt your wife would be OK with you sexting underage girls.
commented 2017-03-31 01:31:43 -0400
Andrew Stephenson try explaining that to the people attacking Pence for this. You criticized the article for its use of lonely spinster , yet that is very mild compared to the attacks on Pence which are personal.

As reported by a former Secret Service body guard to the Clintons….Bill was chatting up a young intern on the lawn of the White House…Hillary walked by and said….“Put your dick away Bill, you can’t fuck her right here on the lawn”…

“Got no time for the corner boys…out there on the street making all that noise…nor the whores on 8th Avenue…because tonight I’m going to be with you”

“so don’t bother me ‘cause I’ve got no time…I’m on my way to see that girl of mine”

The most beautiful and real love song ever composed. And after Tom broke up with Ricky Lee Jones…he decided he wanted something more substantial…sang this as a serenade to a Jersy girl…and they are still married.

Glenn Craig,

Call bullshit all you want.

Even though it was hyperbolic, my wife would actually tell me to go to the Playboy mansion if I was invited through work or whatever – again, we have complete trust in each other and she would think it would be cool to experience a Playboy mansion party – she is awesome that way.

Just like I would have no problem if she wanted to get drunk with girlfriends at a bachelorette party with a bunch of male strippers. I know her and she knows me – we love each other and we are best friends – we don’t need such “contracts” in our happy marriage.

It’s unfortunate that you need those “contracts” in your marriage.

@Jack Carter….I call bullshit. If what you say is true then there would be nothing that would compell you to accept an invitation to the Playboy Mansion…and your wife might be that gullible but don’t expect me or any other REBEL reader to be.

Good for him. Many find the heteronormative tradition quite appealing. Others find the “lonely spinster” lifestyle appealing, no matter how loaded the language you use to describe it.

Won’t stop me from marrying my couch, which I equally respect and insist on bringing on outings where alcohol is served, lest I sit in some other chair’s misguided embrace.
commented 2017-03-31 00:17:50 -0400
Peter Netterville,

Except I have been happy married for 15 years and we have been completely faithful to each other without the need to make such rules.

We trust each other 100% and we are not insecure or don’t feel threatened in our marriage when it comes to interacting with other women and men.

Just as an hyperbolic example to further my point, I could go to the Playboy mansion and my wife would know that despite all the temptation, I wouldn’t cheat on her. That’s how secure we are.

We are in love with each other. That’s all that needs to be said. Do you need to have such rules and arrangements in your marriage because you have trust issues?

And right on queue Jack Carter, a socialist leftie troll, proving that he does not understand the concept of one man and one wife fidelity, thinks it is characteristic of being “pussy whipped”.

His comment just prove the point I have been making, that the left is incapable of moral behavior and they do not even recognize just how foul their morals truly are.

In fact, they think of themselves as the moral fabric of our Western society. Western society is decaying because of their lack of morals, yet they are blind to it.

Jack Carter is indeed an idiot. Those are standards by which my parents lived, they’re the standards by which all my married siblings live, and they’re the standards that they are passing on to the next generation. And not a one of us is “pussy whipped”, as Jack Carter so succinctly put it.

Sheila, right on again.
Maybe a little winter humdrum, or just had enough of Trudeau and SJW bs, but started forwarding Rebel links to NDP family in Ontario.
They are concerned about my mental well being. So CBC brainwashed they are. Gives me a giggle.
Sheila you go girl

Jack Carter…your an idiot, what else can be said.
The greatest hockey player of all time lived by a similar code. He never got in an elevator or went out alone, always with a team mate or a GOOD friend. This way he was never put in the position to have to defend himself against false accusations. As we all know to well, there are a lot of psychopaths out there, specially in the leftist media, that look for these opportunities to ruin someone life with lies.

PS…I never was and will never be an oilers fan.

No offense Sheila but the Rebel spends too much time on US politics when we have a pivitol14 candidate CPC leadership race on here – let’ here more profiles and interviews with the candidates and less news items stripped of the net news sites.

Lead, don’t follow.
